Easy, low impact, great for legs!
Sunny is a top pick of ours for exercise equipment like their indoor bike and now this, the Under Desk Elliptical Exerciser. Easy out of the box already assembled. It weighs 25 lbs and is somewhat heavy to lift and relocate, but we use it in one area so this isn’t an issue.Excellent little pedal machine and I like that it isn’t electric, your feet and legs do the work. After the initial full revolution at the lowest resistance, it’s pretty much effortless and motivating. I took it to each level of impact, all 8 in sequence, and the feel of motion was not too noticeable. In other words I can do a gradual workout with each selection from level 1-8 in a preferred time set with overall comfort and ease. I would say this is a low impact unit, yet gives a decent workout. You can manage the machine with whatever suits your routine. I choose less impact being conservative with resistance and it still has good results in toning my legs and very moderate cardio. If I want a rigorous ride I’ll jump on the Sunny indoor bike. All in all, we are very happy with this pedal exerciser. Good while watching the news or just hanging out being social in the living room. It might get too distracting for me to use this while working on projects at the Mac. We highly recommend this for anyone looking to keep their leg circulation in good form without taking it to the streets or trail every time the urge to move comes along. And speaking of move, this does not! It stays put on carpet and I’m sure it wouldn’t slip on hardwood or linoleum. Very sturdy and safe. Do not stand up on this machine. The company posts a warning about that, could cause serious injury. One thing we suggest is if you’re looking to buy a machine for older parents or grandparents, an electrical apparatus might be best, and Sunny has those available too. There are other products that connect to power with very little to no impact but keep circulation alive and well. We love this Under Desk pedal addition and it seems to be built exceptionally well, a positive point to note for the long haul.

Wonderful supplement to one's daily exercise regimen
I spend too much time at my desk and even though I do get to the gym most days, I find it's just not enough to keep the weight off. So why not utilize those idle hours to burn a few extra calories? After a bit of research, I settled on this model, the Sunny SF-E3872 under-desk elliptical. It is designed to be operated while seated; there are some other similar looking ellipticals that can be used from a standing position, but this one specifically warns against standing, so bear that in mind.It did take a bit of experimentation to get it positioned correctly. My particular desk is too low for my knees to operate the machine so it has to stick out a bit, and I have to sit back a bit from the desk. I finally put something behind the elliptical, wedged against the wall, and now the device juts out a little from under the desk and is just right.Meanwhile, I put rubber coasters under my office chair's wheels, to try and stop it sliding back, but I do occasionally have to slide it forward again. I even attached a metal handle to the front of the desk, to have something to stabilize myself when exercising more vigorously. One other mod that came in handy: I attached a cheap LED rocker light just under the front of the desk, so I can quickly check the calorie display. When I first got this machine, I used all the defaults: medium difficulty, scan mode. The scan mode shifts every few seconds from speed to time to calories burned. If you long press the button, it resets everything to zero; I usually do that once a day. You can move it off scan mode by tapping the button, then keep it on time or calories which is what I prefer. It's quiet. After 2-3 weeks, though, it started making a creaking sound, so I put a bit of 3-in-One household oil on each wheel, and it went back to being whisper-quiet. Also, I like to vacuum the area every couple of days, because of my obsessive-compulsive nature; don't want a buildup of grit and stuff clogging the mechanism.Other than that...not much to say. I've been using it every day for about a month and it's been great! I recommend it. If anything changes, I'll modify this review but so far, steady as she goes.ONE YEAR UPDATE:Okay, not quite one year, more like 11 months! I'm still using this machine several times a week and it still works great. In fact I'm pedaling it right now as I type and it's whisper-quiet.One improvement was to install casters with brakes on my office chair (it took a while to find good ones but Amazon came through!). Now, the chair stays put (almost too much so in fact so you have to literally lift the chair to move it) and this makes the elliptical easier to use with little distraction.I still oil it approximately every 3-4 weeks to keep it running quietly. It is still using its original battery, amazingly. I can still recommend this machine and if I am ever commuting to work again, I might get a second one for on site. And yes, I would still buy this one again. By the way, they have a couple of youtube videos explaining how to use which are worth viewing.

There are so many of these types of machines on the market, it is very hard to choose!
This one is sturdy and high quality. I when mostly by Sunny’s reputation] though. But get it on sale. I bought for under my desk, for those long computer work hours.PROS:This machine has a magnetic clutch that works on the resistances amazingly well. I didn’t want a motorized unit because I wanted more natural feedback resistance.-has a nice exercise/workout app for freeCons:-It does slide a bit on the bare (laminate) floor which is a bit annoying. [seems to be one corner front pad].-it did develop an annoying clicking noise (the right pedal?) after a few days. It is soft, but still present.Except for these factors, I am pretty satisfied. Besides, it would have been a work out just to return this heavy machine.
