GROSS!!! But very useful!
I'll make it short and not go into years worth of what not to do... Pretty much I have always used Q-tips in my ear to clean them, little did I know that I wasn't supposed to go in the canal because that pushes the wax INTO your ear more... years later I start to develop what appears to be loosing my hearing but not in the sense that I need hearing aids...etc. When I would sleep on my side of my ear, I would wake up in the morning and it was clogged... EVERYTHING was muffled in that ear and it prooved to be very annoying. Think like if you get water in your ear and it's plugged up. It threw my whole sense off and was getting more annoying. If I got in the shower and let the water go in my ear it would ease up and I would be fine the rest of the day... Fast forward a little bit and when I went to the doctors they said I had compacted wax in my ear.. Just great, what does this even involve... cost, procedures..etc. They could not do anything that day because that's not what I went in there for but they said come back and they can take care of it.Being the person that takes care of things first or at least gives it a try, I got this product. I read about using olive oil or some type of drops to loosen the wax first. I ended up using hydrogen proxide. Put a couple drops in my right hear since that was plugged up for almost 2 straight days. Tilted my head and kept it like that for a couple minutes then continued to add more drops. After about 15 mins of doing this I could hear! However when I pushed up on the bottom of my ear it would clog/close again... I then used the syringe, started squirting water in my right ear and after a couple tries nothing happened. I then used more hydrogen proxide and let it sit then started to flush my ear again. As I was looking down in the sink I started seeing little tiny pieces of wax, the size of a period or smaller. My ear seemed to be getting better but I kept flushing away with clean water, and let the sink hold the nasty water... I was probably going at my right ear for about 35 minutes. Then I gave it a final swoosh of water and all of a sudden I could start feeling things coming out of my ear, I look down in the sink and JUST like what is pictured from other users here was what was in my sink.. completely gross I couldn't believe that was in my ear... Balls of wax that were rather large! I am amazed how I heard anything.Decided to do my left ear since that's always been a problem and like I said above when I sleep on my side (left mainly) my ear would be completely closed up in the morning. Did the same routine with the hydrogen proxide and flushing, NOTHING was coming out of my left ear at all. I repeated this procedure for almost an hour. Then I started see little bits just like my right ear in the sink so I came to the conclusion that it was finally breaking the wax up in my left ear. Continued to flush and then all of a sudden, I felt the same feeling like I did in my right ear and could "feel" drainage... looked in the sink and sure enough the same nasty wax that came out of my right ear was coming out of my left ear except larger. I was completely grossed out and said that is exactly why my ear was getting plugged up. Continued to flush about another five more minutes and little pieces came out. Overall I am very pleased. This saved me a couple hundred dollars for a doctor visit. My ears have never been this clean internally and I am very glad that I no longer get plugged ears, I almost feel like I have bionic hearing. For those that have never experienced a muffled or loss of hearing because of wax, it sucks.I was thinking of posting pictures of the wax but said that's too gross, but I can assure you that it's the same exact look and size if not larger pieces than what has already been posted in the user's images. This product did work for me and there is another syringe online that is called the master blaster that was almost $50 that I thought about buying... I'm glad I didn't honestly, that's a lot of money for a piece of plastic. This is reasonably priced. I was worried about squirting a jet of water in my ear canal, but all ended well. Just take your time and don't rush it! There is no point in trying to get crap out of your ears and puncturing your ear drum. Take it slow and it might be a couple days if you have a lot of compacted wax. The way I judge it, I had almost 2 years of compacted wax in my left ear. I can't even begin to describe now how my hearing is better!DON'T USE Q-TIPS or stick things IN your ear to clean the wax! It just pushes it more in your ear.-Nigel

Very happy with product
I have had chronic problems with my ears since I was a child. I stopped having problems for a few years, but in my late teens and as an adult I tend to find that I get chronic buildup and frequent infections especially following any kind of sore throat/head cold/allergy type situations. The last few years, I've dealt with it by using things like Debrox drops and the included ear bulb and a heating pad, but I felt like I never really got results with the ear bulb by itself and I have concerns about putting the drops in my ears as much as I was. After seeing a few "ear wash" videos online, I considered getting an elephant ear washer but I just couldn't bring myself to pay $30+ for what appears to essentially be a glorified spray bottle. I also had concerns about the direct spray and my eardrums. This seemed like a nice, relatively cheap compromise because I spend more than what I paid for this on tons of other useless crap on a regular basis.Everything arrived as described.Per the instructions other reviewers have posted, I put Debrox drops in one ear first and waited before attempting to flush with water. On the first try, I only used drops in one ear. The water I used in the ear with the drops was a bit too cool as I did experience a bit of lightheadedness that I did not experience later when flushing the other ear with warmer water. The ear I used the drops in did not have as much stuff when I flushed them as the ear I did not use drops in. The drops actually seemed to irritate the inside of my ears a little, causing drainage problems and I was a bit uncomfortable when I flushed them.Overall, I actually really like this thing. As I stated before, using the drops seemed to irritate the inside of my ears and made the product less effective for me. I think I'm going to try to use this product without the drops for awhile. Warm water is essential because using water that is too hot or too cool will cause lightheadedness. As other reviewers have noted, it is a bit of a pain to keep filling it up and squirting it in. It doesn't hold much water, but I refuse to take off stars for that because I knew how large it was when I purchased it. It can be a little awkward to use because you have to push the plunger in while holding it in your ear. I imagine it is probably a little hard for some people to get the right angle to squirt in the right place. I actually struggled with this a little bit but feel that the results overall are worth it once I figured things out. I'm definitely happy with the purchase and plan to keep using it. I'm also considering buying more for others in my family who have similar issues.

It wasn't the greatest but it preformed well enough to dislodge the ear ...
I occasionally have mild psoriasis in my ear canals that causes skin flakes to drop into the ear canal resulting in buildup (3 or so times per year). I've had the Health Enterprises Ear Wax Removal Syringe for a year but I only used it about 4 times before it broke (plunger). It wasn't the greatest but it preformed well enough to dislodge the ear wax. The tip is kind of uncomfortable (pokey?) but it works well enough. The problem with the unit is that it's too small resulting in the user having to push the plunger too hard to get enough pressure and steady flow to dislodge anything. Since you have to push too hard the plunger will eventually break due to flawed design in my opinion. The flaw (beside being too small) in the unit is that the plastic near the plunger seal (look at the picture between 5 and 10 ml really closely) is smaller than the rest of the plunger. Since it's too small(barrel that holds solution) it forces the user to pull the plunger seal near the edge of the barrel and then push too hard. Eventually that piece that is smaller than the rest of the plunger will break/snap.If you read the review you'll see a lot of "it was ok until it snapped". Like I said it's ok and will work decent for most. Also you need to have reasonable expectations. If you have impacted ear wax it won't always just be a couple of squirts problem solved. You might have to have a couple of sessions before your impacted wax has loosen. It's really a disposable product but the price doesn't reflect that in my opinion. If they were only a couple dollars I think it's flaws would be acceptable.
