A milestone and point of reference of all the action movies of the last 30 years, a classic, yet still fresh and up to date
A point of reference for action films and still one of the best ever made.Ironic, inventive, adrenalinic, surprising, and with onscreen visual effect, so no CGI or easy solutions: all that you see, hear and enjoy is the result of a director and a bunch of excellent professionals that know how to produce and shoot a film.Die Hard is, in fact, a film that is still engaging but is, in a sense, a kind of classic film made in the classic way.And you can tell also by the way it is written: a fresh, exciting and well balanced script where twists are essential and action is where you need it and not spread all over the story, in order to lead the viewer through ups and downs, and never get bored. A film that smartly plays with all the cliché of the hero and the bad guys, the helpers, the victims in a very refreshing way. Many memorable lines and moments, a great construction of action scenes where, surprisingly enough, you can follow the action and do not get lost in thousands shots and ultrafast edit that would have produced only confusion with no engagement. Excellent blu ray

Definitely a Christmas film!
I had never seen this film before but it’s my husbands favourite film - we had the debate about whether this was about Christmas or not and as I had never seen it he asked me to watch it before I made my decision & yes I suppose it is a Christmas film. I absolutely loved this film - I’ve ended up buying the box set for all the films now and that’s something we will can enjoy throughout the year & we will watch Die Hard again next Christmas. I can’t believe I had never seen it before because this to me must have been one of the best films of its time! Highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t watched it - if you don’t think it’s a Christmas film then think twice!

LOVE THIS FILM!
So this was my first time watching this. I had already watched the 3rd one and thought it could not compete with it when my partner had said it was just based on one location, a tower block. How wrong was I! It may not have half as many locations as the 3rd but my god the storyline and plot is that good it really doesent matter. After now watching the second one also I think this is actually my favourite out of all of them! There is a good amount of action in it and in some way it is better because it's just based around him, his wife, the baddies and the fundernental and simple but effective ways he uses to get the better of them!Definitely recommend this to anyone that hasn't seen it before!

One of the best christmas action movies !!
With so many great action films released in the eightees and early ninetees why should you chose die hard? Well first of all The storyline isn't too far fetched. Its about a cop (and supposedly average family man) on vacation over christmas visting his career driven wife and trying to sort out their patchy marriage. But when terrorists hi-jack the building she works in, its left up to John Mclaine (Bruce Willis) to take control and free his wife and the hostages. The acting is exactly as it should be nothing over the top and Willis and Alan Rickman as the villain really build a great rivalry, this films clever unique, well written and acted with as much action and sufficiant violence as what youd expect from a film of this generation which still sets a standard for many of todays films. A really good film that the sequals surprisingly have been pretty good too.The blu-ray picture transfer is spot on as is the sound as you would hope for so all thats fine (no extras on blu-ray though).
