Heavy Tournament Triple Weighted Chess Set Combo - Black

I bought this traveling chess set for my trip to Europe, and I have to say it was a great purchase. The pieces are magnetic and stick to the board even when the plane hits turbulence. The board folds up and fits in my backpack easily. The best part is that I can play chess with strangers I meet along the way. It's a great conversation starter and a fun way to pass the time. I highly recommend this product to anyone who loves chess and traveling.

This chess set is perfect! I couldn't have asked for a better one. I play chess with my friends all the time and this set makes it easier to play since it is easy to transport. The quality of the board is excellent, I have learned though that you have to roll it up checkered face down in order for it to not be a hassle when trying to play again. The pieces themselves are perfectly weighted. Something that was not mentioned or I simply did not see is, there is a place for a chess rule book in the case. There's nothing wrong with that, but i don't have a rule book nor do I plan on buying one. I simply keep a deck of cards in there in case someone wants to play cards after playing chess. I would most defiantly buy this chess board again and I recommend it to anyone looking to buy a nice chess board.

Triple weighted, and well made with a smooth finish. Comes with a second queen of each color for the successful pawn! Nice case with room for a clock and notation cards.

Overall, I am extremely happy with this set and the company I bought it from. This chess set arrived on time, but with issues. First, the black queen was broken in half; and second, the strap anchor point on the case broke within hours of using it. However, I contacted Wholesale chess right away and they sent me a new queen and bag, no questions asked. This was some of the best customer support that I have seen in quite some time.As for the set itself, it's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done quite nicely. It's compact, easy to use, and durable. I've taken it all sorts of places and makes for a nice game of chess wherever I go.

Definitely well weighted. Have kids who really started getting into chess and bought this as a second set. Other reviews are right on about the vinyl like smell. Pretty strong upon delivery and still present after a number of weeks. It's not the smell that really bothers me any longer; rather it's the wavy nature of this board/mat. After unrolling the mat, it retains some of the wavy shape which makes putting the pieces on a minor hassle. Good that they are triple weighted. Through our own doing, we bought this because of the nice carry case. Turns out that it's a little more of a hassle to put away than the wooden board and divided wooden box we have. In a household where we want to make things easier to put away so the kids can do it; this is just a bit more difficult to roll up, secure in the elastic then gather the pieces shove them into their respective bags zipper them away, then zipper the whole case. With the other set we just throw all the pieces in the box and shove it all in the toy cabinet. I think we had to get this set to figure out what we really need right now; however should we need a set that the kids can bring to school, have an extra queen with a board marked with the ranks and files this would be it! Finally, we ended up at a chess club a while ago and it was there I realized the set we have is really meant to be unrolled and played on over a weekend or a number of days; unlike the way we play chess at home; kind of on a whim, and only for an hour or two.

A+ Product. Pieces heavy and quality, and weighted nicely, and felted. Canvas bag is awesome and quality with nice zipper pouches for pieces and space for a clock, and pencils, etc. Only downside is the cardboard box it comes in says "Wholesale Chess" which doesn't really communicate the right message when this set is given as a gift. However, we pulled the product out of that box, and put the set in a gift bag, and since the product's bag itself is so nice, the cardboard box downside was eliminated. I would recommend the company make a nicer cardboard box and instantly improve the product. Will be buying one for myself. Was sad to gift it away. Buy it no regrets.

The pieces have a nice feel and weight. Meanwhile, the board is huge, the notation is easily visible and rolls up easily.The travel bag is a huge plus too with 3 extra pockets on the inside. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking a for good set.

Great i love this product already used it so much that the pieces have a little bit of scratches but that’s just normal. I love the set it’s very plesant and very very high quality i appreciate the set and will definitely recommend to anyone who’s looking to buy a set. ALSO the board is water resistant got some water on it but no damage smell or defects.
