FIFA 13 - Ultimate Edition (Xbox 360)

I ordered this product on September 2nd with the delivery option to receive on the day it is released, I haven't had my product today [and I doubt the royal mail will deliver at this time]. I am very unhappy with that as I paid good money for it to be here today.Saying that I bought the EA Online Pass for FIFA 13 so I have played the game for a week so I can comment on the games features.Firstly the menu I feel is a lot better, instead of loading you into an arena you are on the menu where I would want to be.The new features are mainly the Skill Games, which I will get to later, the First-Touch control and the EAS FC Catalogue.The new Skill Games are a great addition to the game as it helps you get familiar with the game and teaches you how to do various things e.g Passing, Dribbling and Free Kicks. They increase in difficulty with each stage so for passing it starts with short passing to 8 people and then advances to opposition being in the way of your pass. So for beginners it is great to get to know the game. But also for seasoned FIFA players there is the points aspect and a leaderboard to show off how good you are.Secondly the First Touch aspect in gameplay I think is another great addition (if not frustrating at first). Instead of perfect touches when the ball is volleyed clear and hits someone in the chest, the ball will now fly off them, also you can no longer 'Ride the RT/R2' you will have to let go of your favourite button to receive the ball, at first it is frustrating but you can use it to your advantage with fancy first touches. All in all a fine addition to the game.Finally the EAS FC Catalogue. This is where your hours of gameplay are rewarded. You will noticed you have an EAS FC level on the bottom right of your screen (in the game menu) now each time you get EXP to level up you will be awarded FCC which are Football Club Credits (I think). You can spend these credits from simple things like Retro Kits to Virtual Pro Boosts and FUT Coins. I feel this is a nice reward to play time rather than just achievements.I haven't mentioned FUT because it is really the same except for the menu which has been revamped and looks great.Career is also slightly different but still in essence the same.And Pro Clubs has changed too, mainly into divisions not just so the amount of played time means your #1 club. 3points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss.All in all I think it is a great FIFA game and worth a buy, if you enjoy the FIFA franchise you will love this.Just a pity mine didn't come on time,Thanks.

The last FIFA game I purchased was FIFA 11. I'd have purchased FIFA 12 but didn't enjoy the demo, after all the changes the franchise had received that year. So when the FIFA 13 demo came out, I nearly didn't download it. But I'm glad I did.FIFA 13 is an exceptional game. There are minor flaws - the game has frozen three times in the first three weeks, and there were some server issues that I believe have been addressed - but overall, this is by some distance the best football game I have ever played.Whether it be Ultimate Team, Career mode, Seasons mode, online with friends - every game is a challenge, and every game so far has been fun (even the ones I've lost). This year's effort focusses more on attacking than defending, so you can expect some high-scoring games, spectacular goals, and the thing that really sets this apart from previous games: the best players really are a class apart from the average Joes.There are some really detailed reviews on the game. I would recommend that you read them all, because once you have, you'll be clicking 'buy now' rather quickly! Enjoy!

Game overall is amazing, however E.A are useless are making things work smoothly online as the servers are always down. Also for Ultimate Team you play someone who has spent £100's of microsoft points and you just cannot compete!

Until they bring in an update and find out whats wrong the game don't buy it. The game constantly freezes on several game types for example Career Mode. If you start a career mode on the Download Latest section, after 1 season your career mode will simply freeze and you won't be able to pass through to the second season. Ive also been experiencing freezing mid way through as well that i can't get passed now, i try to click on contracts and the whole game freezes. Also the invisible ball problem, you start a game sometimes and the players are moving around passing an invisible ball. Furthermore, if you don't play career mode on the latest downloads and play the original default mode, the loan deals will never end. Despite saying they are on loan, after 1 season the players (who have already been brought in on loan originally in the transfer market, e.g. Andy Carroll) they will not return to their original club, you are unable to end the loan as well. Despite it freezing, when you eventually play a match the gameplay is brilliant, but consider buying the game more towards Xmas, when they would have been more likely to find a patch for the constant freezing and glitches within the game.

I buy FIFA every year. For me the test isn't whether to buy this one but if I'll buy FIFA 14. They're cute in always updating the game play a little (this year it's a change to the game mechanics) and updating the player names. Pretty much everything else is the same.So why bother updating? Arguably you shouldn't. It's marginally better than FIFA 12 but hardly revolutionary, yet the basic game is excellent and it's difficult to imagine how it can be improved significantly.One thing that does annoy me is you need to buy an 'Online Pass' for each additional Xbox Live profile. This means that if you share one copy between two people the second has to buy a pass. I simplify it by buying two copies and at least then you can play each other on Live.FIFA also used to annoy me with the number of button presses needed to start the game. The opening sequence in FIFA 12 took a long, long time. FIFA 13 is marginally better.But, yes, I will buy FIFA 14 for the Xbox 720.
