I'm hesitant to write this review so soon, afraid i'll jinx myself. I bought this for one of my boys has has been having eczema for most of his life. He's almost 14 yo now and has a ton of allergies that the allergist doesn't see (meaning negative on skin prick tests, but we can see for sure- like cats....he's negative on the test but if he comes in contact with cat dander, his eyes get red, watery, he hives up over large portions of his body, etc. We need to rush Benadryl! Anyhow, my husband is the same way. With a recent trip out of state, food off his diet, and cat's at family members homes, we had been dealing with crazy amounts of eczema. My husband is very similar. And with spring coming, I wanted to try something different. We've been fighting this for years, but suddenly I discovered histamine intolerance. I can't believe no doctor or allergist has mentioned this to me. Well, actually yes. I can believe it. They haven't been very helpful. So, this is our first experience with any DAO supplement for histamine intolerance and so far, so good. They are not taking them regularly. Just a few here and there as they feel they need it. My husband took 3 this afternoon, and 3 this evening and was outside all day working in the yard!!!! Which is amazing! He barely had a sniffle until around time to come inside for dinner. He took a couple more pills and the symptoms got better. It's almost as if they contain antihistamine right inside. My son is noticing a positive effect as well.We have only had it for a few days now though. I'll have to update my review in a few weeks or months. Maybe after spring is over.

I have something called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome where my body treats a lot of things as an “allergy”...even though it’s not a real allergy. This syndromes makes me react to foods that have higher histamine content or foods that stop the action of the enzymes that break down histamine. Kidney glandular, such as this one, has the highest level of one of those enzymes, the DAO enzyme. It helps to keep me going...& it REALLY helps if I accidentally eat something that will make me react. But for general health, kidney issues and I’m sure other health challenges...it’s a great supplement. Code Age seems to be a good, grass-fed brand. There are no fillers, as with some brands that are cheaper...& it’s gmo free! It suits my purposes very well.(If you’re reading this review and can’t afford it, I understand...been there done that. Swanson has a good, passable kidney supplement that I’ve used in the past. I do feel this one is better... but again...if you can’t, you can’t. God bless!)

I absolutely love these pills and they are now a must everyday for me health wise. I was taking the ancestral brand but the price of these were too good to pass up. Comparing the brands this brand seems like the kidney is more finely ground whereas the ancestral brand is a tiny bit little more chunky. The ancestral was slightly larger pill.I take 3-4 pills before a higher histamine meal. But if I am very careful with my histamine diet and don't necessarily need a DAO supplement like this kidney pills, I do feel noticeably worse. The beef kidney really adds a great well being and helps with the depression I can get with Mast Cell Activation. Even just taking 1 grass fed pill kidney a night helps to feel better the next day.I am a big fan of these, highly recommend to people dealing with histamine issues and for others just looking for some energy or an uptick in well being.

It smells so bad. I can't get myself to take them and my husband barely choked one down. This item isn't returnable either, so if you're sensitive to smell/taste, go with something else.

I’m just trying this out, so I’m not sure how it is working as of yet. My doctor said it is good quality, so I’m starting with 3 a day right now.I was taking a B supplement when I started this and had to stop due to headaches, so I think it has plenty of B. Once I stopped my B the headaches went away.
