License plate light
Looks good and cheap

Easy to wire, brighter than factory bulbs
Got this to solve a bad bulb issue. Works great, but needed to be wired in. Not a big issue, but some electrical knowledge is required to put this on. Love it, and would definitely purchase again, but I hope I don't have to for a while.

DO NOT BUY. WASTE OF MONEY
i bought this product about 2 months ago. lights were fine for about a month and now 80%of the lights don’t work 10% of it flashes the other 10% still works. it no longer lights up my plate because of where the lights that do work don’t cover it. terrible product honestly would like my money back or exchange for a new one for the meantime. absolutely garbage

Significant design flaws
I wanted to give this four stars for its brightness, but a design flaw made installation very difficult. Three stars means "It's OK" (if you're patient and determined). While researching license lights, I read reviews that mentioned getting pulled over for dim lights. My trailer's bracket is *underneath* the bed, 17" from the back of the trailer - well protected even from headlights. Twelve LEDs seemed like a good idea. The body of the unit is chrome-plated plastic so two wires are required to power the LEDs. The mounting ears span the top two mounting holes of the license plate. A couple of extra blobs on the body suggest that the lens is sealed with clear silicone glue. The kit includes a pair of two-wire splicers to make the electrical connections.A trial installation was disappointing: the twelve LEDs were very dim. I connected the unit to a 12V power supply and they shone brightly. A voltmeter showed the trailer was only getting 8V; while enough to power the LED taillights and eleven LED navigation lights brightly, it didn't impress this unit. Starting the engine raised the voltage 11V and that fired up the license plate light. The installation revealed the design first flaw: the wires are tiny - suitable for children's toys but not for an automotive product. I've uploaded photos showing that each lead is made up of seven strands, each maybe four times the thickness of a human hair. Even as a bundle, the bare strands slide freely through the splicer slot. Pushing a wire into the slot barely nicked the insulation, not enough to make an electrical connection; the splicers are useless with this unit.I'm the type who will spend time correcting design flaws and I really wanted this to work. In fact, while trying to find a bolts short enough to fit the bottom holes of my curious license bracket, I realized another of these units would do the trick - and make my license plate visible from space. So, in spite of the design flaw, I bought a second one.In all, it took about four hours to get the two units wired and mounted properly. Even the lightest touch with a razor to strip the insulation off these tiny wires would sever them so I used a soldering iron to "score" the insulation to the point where I could pull it off. I then spiraled the two thin red wires around a piece of real automotive wire to give them strength, twisted and soldered the ends, capped them with a wire nut, and wrapped the assembly with electrical tape. I tinned the other end of the red automotive wire and connected it to the 12V supply with a wire nut plus electrical tape. I repeated the process with the two black wires but soldered a ring terminal onto the other end of the black automotive wire to slide onto the 1/4"-20 license plate screws. This allowed the flimsy wires to make good electrical connections and strong physical connections to the trailer's wiring. The end result is that the plate is lit exceedingly well - in the center. The far right digit is somewhat visible and the leftmost digit is virtually invisible. I'm afraid the best way to light a full license plate with these is buy two and mount one vertically on each end.

Bright works great
Very bright,? Illuminates nicely, great replacement for both bumper license plate lights. Would recommend!
