I recently finished reading the English translation of "Hindu Dharma" by Pujyashri Chandrashekarendra Sarasvati Svamigal. It took me almost one-and-a-half to two months to complete the 750-page edition.This book is a compilation of the golden speeches of Mahaperiyava on the Vedic, Sastric, and hence, the dharmic way of life enjoined by our scriptures, traditions, great seers and acharyas on Sanatanis.The topics have been painstakingly chosen, cohesively arranged and translated superlatively from a series of Tamil lectures given at various times by Mahaperiyava.The book is OUTSTANDING for the simple explanations and broad scope of what could otherwise be a difficult area to navigate and make sense of for Sanatanis who don't follow all the injunctions laid upon them, but are keen to start somewhere. Making notes wherever possible would be a good idea to keep track of sections that speak directly to the reader.It is clear why Mahaperiyava is referred to as Nadamadum Deivam and specifically as an incarnation of Lord Shiva as Dakshinamurthy, the guru.A definite must have to add to the home collections of those interested in following, preserving and understanding at least some aspects of the vast universe that is Sanatana Dharma.

This book is written in easy language representing comprehensive core Dharmic values/traditions of this great ancient country. The authencity is enhanced as the author Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi is a venerable sage. Those who have young children should definitely have this book. Those who are grand parents should read & discuss with their grand children. Then perhaps the next generation won't be alienated from our great civilisation. The book publishing & print quality is very good.

It is a fine book for those who want to understand the crux of Hinduism. Although I differ with some of the opinions in the book, nevertheless it is a good read for all who want to understand Hinduism.
