Great for Sing-alongs as well as Karaoke for large and small groups. A little Top Heavy; be careful. Great quality for price.
I received this for my birthday to replace an older system and I checked tons of reviews before purchasing. It works with all my purchased CDGs and hooks up to my TV no problem. I was able also to hook my laptop up to the TV and play Karaoke songs from Youtube on the tv and sing through the speakers. Fun! I did not test the flash drive or Bluetooth yet, but the slot in front of the CDG drive makes a nice spot to keep the case for the "in use" CDG.Microphones have long enough cords that singers can sit further from the system on the furniture. Volume control is separate for the two microphones which is nice if one person wants to be louder or softer. Speakers work great and are plenty loud enough for a larger size room with a bunch of people. There are silver screws and black screws provided for assembly. Keep them straight because although they will fit in the same holes, some are longer than others and length does make a difference! Voice of experience. Easily rectified but thought I'd put that out there. The speakers and pedestal are pretty lightweight which makes for great portability but my daughter has a German Shepherd and an Aussie Heeler and they were playing and nearly knocked the machine down. It is stable but a bit top heavy and can easily be knocked over by a careless dog or a small child, and the machine might not survive the fall, especially on a hard floor. I think the only thing I would change about this machine is to make the platform base wider and heavier, for that reason.I was able to purchase songs from the Singing Machine website and burn my own mix as a CDG. LOVE that as I've had trouble finding enough songs I enjoy on commercial CDGs and sets to warrant the purchase price, without duplicating songs I already have. This way I only buy the songs I like. Songs end up being about $2 each and for that you get the vocal and no vocal track for each song you buy and the option of multiple formats. I had a little trouble figuring out how to select the correct format to burn to the CDG at first. There is a link on the words I didn't see at first that let me select and download the right format in my purchased songs folder online. Burn at the slowest speed your machine allows like it tells you. The burner on my laptop worked at 10x.I burned Christmas CDGs and we used the machine at our church Christmas party without the mikes for a sing-along with the words going on the TV and the music playing (They had traditional and non-traditional fun ones. The Grinch Song was a hoot and a half by the way). Room was the size of a small gym and you could hear to the back with people talking.I love that this machine is affordable but not cheap looking or sounding. It's obviously not a professional system for recording but for family and party use it's fantastic! Very happy.

The Karaoke Machine that Saved Christmas
We have all had a family holiday event marred by a good old fashioned family falling out. Well, with my husbands family finally all reunited for their traditional Christmas group after the pandemic, there was probably no way of avoiding it. After the dust settled, we turned on the machine and lured everyone back out together one by one. By the end of the night we had the whole family laughing, dancing, and singing together. The machine was easy enough for the 90+ year old seniors to use, and was easy to hook up to the family tv. Having two microphones was a huge plus, as people were more likely to sing in pairs than alone. Highly recommend. Worth the money. If you also have a combative multigenerational family, don’t sleep on this!

Warning: Missing Parts & Outdated Technology
Missing Parts You will Need to Provide:- USB thumb drive or blank CD- Personal computer (not a tablet or phone)- Lots of patienceWarning: In order to see the lyrics on your screen you will need a few additional things including: a flash drive or blank CD, a personal computer and a lot of patience. The technology for this machine is very outdated. The karaoke machine CANNOT connect directly to your TV via Bluetooth, and the RCA cables are useless. There is a workaround for a select few that have matching phone/tablets and TV’s. You can use the Singing Machine app on your phone and utilize the mirror function to view your phone’s screen on your TV. Example: you have an Apple TV and an iPhone. After hours of troubleshooting on my own thinking it was a user error, talking with Amazon support (a pointless option offered on the Amazon app) and talking with a Singing Machine customer service rep I was finally able to find out all of this info. As the Singingmachine rep kept telling me the process was super easy, but it is most definitely not.I thought it might be very relevant for people to understand what it will actually take to achieve what you are likely trying to accomplish with this machine. In conclusion, I’m still deciding if I am going to return it, and here is why:Cons:It doesn’t function as I thought it would or as it’s advertised. You must first pay a $15/month subscription. Visit the Singingmachine website on your laptop or computer. Download whatever songs you want into a folder, and then unzip the folder. Make sure your thumb drive is clear of other files (or use a CD). Then plug that thumb drive into the singingmachine. You must rinse and repeat every time you want to change up your song list. The sounds quality is about a 6 out of 10. Not awful, but in my opinion it’s too low quality for the price point. Especially with the limited connectivity options and the very cheap feel of the product.Pros:It has more songs that streaming competitors like SingStar. Otherwise it would be a no brainer.I hope this review helps someone.

Excellent value for the price
As I was assembling this, I wondered how in the world the Singing Machine company could be making a profit. This is a complete, standalone karaoke machine. There are two wired microphones, two wired speakers, a decent stand, and the actual karaoke unit. The karaoke unit has a built-in CD player, a USB port, and even a radio. That's a lot of equipment for the price, and it all works fine for home karaoke. It's even a decent way to just listen to OTA radio.Kudos to Singing Machine!
