Uni Alpha-Gel Shaker Mechanical Pencil with Slightly Firm Grip 0.5mm, Chrome Green (M5618GG1PC.6)

i've used this pencil for 8 years and had to get a new one bc i lost my old one. it's exactly the same and i don't trust any other led pencil.

The shape of it makes it so easy to write comfortably. I get tired of writing because of carpel tunnel symptoms and not anymore. The weight is perfect! Not heavy at all.

A lil pricey (of course, it's a shaker pencil) but, the quality is great and I don't have hand cramps when I write with it for a long period of time!

This might be my favorite mechanical pencil. It works like all the other rotating lead pencils but has a much thinner lead. I thought the thinness would make the lead more fragile and the tip more likely to break. I am very clumsy and expected to drop it and cry. I dropped it several times and it still works. Once it landed with the point perpendicular to the floor and stuck in it. No crying - it still worked.

even though the grip is described as "hard," i still consider it quite soft (but not too soft for my tastes); it seems softer than my pilot dr. grip pens, and those are considered to be soft. it also has a neat locking feature, which enables you to turn off the shaker function so it doesn't dispense lead while rattling around in your pencil pouch or backpack (if the clicker is all the way down, then it's "locked" and you can't dispense lead by shaking; you can still do it by pressing it halfway down to advance the lead. if it is up, then it is "unlocked," and you can advance lead by either shaking or clicking halfway down).i'd say the only 2 downsides are that the eraser is somewhat small (but honestly, you shouldn't use the small erasers on top of mechanical pencils to erase your mistakes; buy one of the staedtler erasers and use that instead), and the fact that this pencil doesn't have a tip that can self-retract to protect it. but other than that, i have no real complaints.

It good but it is too easy to break

This pencil has a really squishy relaxing grip and the lead does not break easily and always stays sharp! However you have to press the top button like a pen and it is supposed to secure the pencil tip...however it does not do the job, you shouldn't worry about this, though. It shakes out lead really easily..you can shake and press. If you open the lead compartment(upper half of pencil) you can take out the shake spring(very easy to take out and put back on)and it won't shake anymore. So there is use in two ways. The eraser is okay and erases well, however it is quite small. Overall this is a awesome pencil to use, at work, at home, anywhere! This is the number one comfy pencil and really is good. But for people who don't like the comfy grip the Pentel Sharp pencil is also a recommendation. For me, I like this Uni Shake Mechanical Pencil better....^^

i had the pink one for like 2 years so i decided to get a new one since my pink one has been through most of middle school with me and that’s not the best place for a pencil. favorite pencil ever.
