Works as good as the broken one it replaced.
After a kitchen accident, we needed to replace a burner on our stove. The shape is ALMOST perfectly aligned with the one it replaced. It fits a little bit higher than the old one, but was much cheaper than trying to buy the replacement burner from the manufacturer. It looks exactly the same.

TWICE: FALSE ADVERTISING!! -Genuine OEM CALROD replacement shown in add; Generic replacement sent.
Advertised - listed Genuine GE OEM, CALROD Replacement parts, received:6" as described - work/fit great.8" generic knock offs. Don't match. Asked that they replace them, with what the "exact", items that are pictured & described. We'll see, how they do. *Well - they 'replaced the replacements'', with the same generic "NOT GE CALROD (OEM) replacements. Cant get my computer to cooperate to include pictures. The second batch of ERP Parts. Sending two sets of 8" burners back. Won't order from them again. The generics, may be just fine, but it is false advertising and the generics can be purchased elsewhere for $10 less. Buyer beware / forewarned.

Not GE branded but likely same item from same factory
It is not GE branded "genuine Calrod". However it does say "made in Mexico" which is where the GE ones are made. Appearance and function is like the original, works great. The center "cap" is smooth with no lettering, I replaced it with the "Genuine Calrod" cap from the original so it matches the other burners.

This is the genuine GE element.
It is tough to find coil ranges, so we keep our old one chugging along. I had to play with bending the plug prongs to get it to sit flat. It does heat quickly on the highest setting. The GE range top we have is a cheap GE top manufactured in China. GE Appliance is now owned by Haier, a Chinese company.

I was desperate!
I ordered this. My GE range is 20+ years old. My kitchen was built in the early 70's. My range is a "drop in" 27". I ruined the electric burner with melted plastic.I Searched on Amazon for the model# . Called GE and was told that parts are no longer available for my old stove.I went to the local appliance store because I was sure that I would need a new range. Was told that no one makes a drop in 27" anymore. I would have to hire a kitchen remodler and cut my cabinets to be able to fit a 30"I thanked them and went home to think it over. (By the way, a new range could cost $2,000.00 or more) plus the remodel.I went on Amazon again and looked closely at my ruined Burnet for a part# nope no way GE that would be too simple but at the top of the burner we're the words Genuine Calrod. The second time I looked on Amazon, I found one that had those words " Genuine Calrod" and was priced at $39.80. I took a chance......I ordered it. I thought if it doesn't fit, I would stop looking and use the 3 working burners. It came the next day. I prayerfully opened the box and inserted the burner and it fit perfectly! I am so grateful to Amazon!!!!! Thank you

Replaced "Sensi-Temp" element that didn't keep consistent temp
I started making flour tortillas and was getting very inconsistent results, with one being overdone and then next being underdone in the same cook time. I bought a cast-iron comal (griddle pan) to try to get consistent heat but it could only stabilize the temperature so well on its own. I decided that the biggest issue was the GE Sensi-Temp elements that my stove came with. The Sensi-Temp elements shut off if the temperature exceeds its setpoint (supposedly 400 F). My elements would shut off at presumably was the safety setpoint but they would cool by a considerable amount before the thermostat would close again at which time they were too cold for good tortilla production. After installing this standard (non-"Sensi-Temp") element, I simply set the temperature to about 50-60% on the control knob and it keeps the proper temperature to cook tortillas properly. Before, I was cranking the temp up to near 100% when the tortilla was coming out undercooked and then turning it way down (around 50%) when they came out overcooked. Since there is no safety thermostat in this element, proper and careful use of the temperature control is essential, but it does provide much more consistent results.
