CoolibarUPF 50+ Women's Bhakti Sun Shawl, Sleek Grey, One Size, Solid - Sun Protective

This scarf/shawl is really practical — sun protecting while it is soft and silky and NOT adding to your heat temperature. I was amazed and bought two. So sometimes draping clothing on you in the sun seems like a suffocating too hot idea but this scarf is the opposite and cools. You can wear it many ways to protect your head, face, shoulders, arms.. They travel well and don’t look bad even when you fold them up in a small square. So, yes, you can chuck it in your tote and drape it around yourself when you need it. It’s a hand wash item but they wash well with a little soap and rinse and I hang mine up to dry. This is really practical in all respects.

Seems great; a bit thicker than anticipated, but willing to believe other reviewers who've used it in the heat and found it cooling. The only surprise is how long it is! I couldn't ever wear it as a scarf (doubled would be way too thick around neck; single layer comes nearly to my knees)! But excited to have flexible coverage for cool plane, hot sunny days. Can cover my whole upper torso and then some if I want to!

I went to a formal event in the desert…my dress was this slinky black Norma Kamali number so I was pretty pleased to see that the fabrics were so similar, it looked intentional.It’s not like a pashmina or any natural fiber, it is closer to a swimming garment texture- or running or yoga pants. Idk, it’s synthetic. Btw mine is black, like a cool black vs a warm black.There is a white tag- remove it! And there is white embroidery of the logo but it didn’t bother me, I just folded it.I did not get a sunburn while outside and for the rest of the evening inside in the air conditioning I was comfortably warmed by it draped over my shoulders.It’s large enough for good coverage, sleek enough to stuff in your purse and to drape around your neck like a long scarf.Love it! I intend to use it for decades.

Love the feel, love the casual look, love the spf sun protection. I liked the black one I got better for color though.

Wore this all over Italy and Spain in the blistering summer sun. Kept me cool and protected.

We are actually walking around Universal Orlando right now and I stopped to write this review… Anyone who is conscientious about sun protection, you need to buy this thing right now! I have had two melanomas so I am pretty obsessively careful about the sun. Bought this because we were going to be walking around an amusement park for days on end and I wanted the extra protection. This scarf folds down to next to nothing and is super lightweight... so easy to just toss in a backpack. But outside in the heat, humidity and direct sun, I thought having a wrap around my shoulders/neck was going to be stiflingly hot. I am shocked at how comfortable it really is. Provides great sun protection but not only that, I think I might actually feel cooler with it on since it blocks out the direct sun rays. Also, surprisingly, we started out our week at a volleyball tournament in a convention center that was ice cold. This worked perfectly as a wrap over my shoulders indoor. Kept me quite comfortable. Wish I had known about this years ago… So versatile!!! It’s long enough that it goes over your shoulders and will cover your arms down to the hands. It’s wide enough that once over your shoulders, it drapes down most of the back, almost to your waist. A great product!!!

I was stunned to find that there is an obvious back/wrong side. I love the heather grey, and I do wear it for sun protection while sitting on my porch, but I would never wear it where it might be seen. The lighter backside grey with the obvious hem all around... not cool, Coolibar! Signed, a longtime Coolibar fan.

I love this SPF shield! It's stylish, soft, easy to clean, and provides a lot of coverage (it's quite large). It's a little on the heavy side due to the size of the item, but not a big inconvenience. I use this as a warming shawl on the plane for a little extra coverage, then hop off in Florida and use it to cover my chest and shoulders from the sun. It's also great to wrap gently over your head to get extra coverage from the sun. It's nice-looking enough to use as a pashmina to a formal event like a beach wedding where you want to shield yourself from the sun but remain stylish. This is so great and I would love to buy more for family and friends.
