Q: Amazon is this flute real gold?

The flute is NOT made out of Brass. It says it is cupernickel which is an alloy of copper and nickel. Brass is an alloy of Copper and zinc.

Q: Would this flute be good for marching band?

I could not recommend this flute for anything. I had a student run through 2 of these flutes in one marching season. You do not need an expensive flute for marching band, but reliability is necessary. I would recommend visiting a music shop (or even just searching online) and looking for a used student model flute, maybe a Bundy, Selmer, Yamaha, or Armstrong. You would get years out of one of those flutes and not just a few months. Hope this helps!! And good luck!!

Q: What type of metal is third made of is this brass aluminum?

It is very thin. Would guess Al. My under 100 # son sat on it and it bent and broke. I was surprised how easily that happened. Other than that it was a good flute. Teachers were impressed on its sound when they found out how much I paid for it. Plus we got a stand and well padded case.
