Q: Can anybody tell me what is the pleatco # is for a c 800 re filter

This is a complicated answer to a simple question, but I'll give you my experience. I bought the Hayward CX800RE because I have a very old unit. I had tried using the Pleatco PA50, **and it did not fit**!!! It is about 1/4" - 1/2" too long. If you have an old Hayward canister, I have not found a Pleatco filter that will fit, and have had to pay the extra cost to get the Hayward filter. Be warned.
