Just what I needed for my saw
I have an older craftsman table saw and finding a zero clearance plate for it is impossible. At some point I'll make one when my skills get better. For now, this tape fits my needs and does exactly as intended. It allows me to cut thinner parts and reduce bottom tear-out on the material. Easy to trim and apply yet seems heavy enough to last a while between changes. Once I get my miter saw I'll be adding it to that as well. Application involved cleaning the plate with mineral spirits to remove an old label, followed by rubbing denatured alcohol to remove any residue, and carefully placing the tape with the blade lowered all the way down. Then clamping a section of 2x4 over the tape, turning on the saw, and SLOWLY raising the blade to full height to create the slot in the tape. The cuts I've made so far have been clean and the tape is adhering well. I would buy this again.

PERFECT LOW COST SOLUTION FOR ZERO CLEARANCE INSERTS!!
I recently purchased zero clearance inserts made of MDF for my table saw, and it made a huge difference. So I wondered if they made something similar for miter saws, since I am always getting small pieces of wood wedged down in the gap. I came across this item by chance, and knew it was definitely worth a shot for the price! It came overnight, and I installed one of the strips immediately. The material is a thin styrene with a VHB tape on the back, and it holds amazingly well. I cleaned the factory insert with alcohol, and let it dry before installation. Checked for fitment and trimmed as needed, it was very easy to install. I saw a couple of reviews mentioning chipping during the first cut, so I put a piece of painters tape along the path of the blade, and SLOWLY brought it down to make the initial cut. Super smooth with no chipping!! Not only will it prevent pieces of debris from getting stuck in the great divide, it will also improve splintering on the bottom of the cut. I will see how it lasts over time, and update if needed.

Works but..........
I make small craft items & have been operating without a zero clearance insert for my miter saw. I saw these & though......perfect. I bought & installed them. The install is easy, & your insert now becomes zero clearance. The issue I has was because I cut small pieces all the time, when holding the piece to cut, the piece is not flat on the table & insert of the miter saw, there is about a mm or 2 difference in height between the tape & the table. This makes for an uneven cut......may 1/2" or less but it shows in my work. If you're cutting big pieces across the blade, it works perfectly. I ended up buying a zero tolerance insert.

Easy to apply, Immediate tear out improvement
For a low price, Fastcap's Zero clearance tape makes a huge improvement in tear out. Cutting Baltic Birch on my table saw and miter saw was causing noticeable edge chipping. While the zero clearance tape hasn't completely eliminated the problem, 90% of the chipping is gone, and I suspect a new saw blade will fix the rest. Additionally, small strips of ripped stock no longer fall into the saw and clog the vacuum. The quality of the tape is excellent and simple to apply on a table or miter saw. There's a safety aspect to this product as well. You are no longer tempted to put your hands near the blade to remove a thin strip wedged between the blade and throat plate. The adhesive is aggressive, take a minute to clean the throat plate and then carefully apply the tape. Once adhered to the throat plate it's difficult to reposition. I received enough zero clearance tape to cover my miter and table saw multiple times. Great product.

Sturdy pvc tape holds up!
Works so well! I used it on my sliding miter saw as well as on my old 9 inch table saw. Fit both just fine after a few cuts to match up with the cover plates. Adhesive is very strong so make sure you're ready to go when you peel the back. Having the extra 3 is great as well because it gives me a little room for error in the future if anything weird happens. Would highly recommend!

A must have for mitre saws
A must have for anyone using a mitre saw!The tape is a good thickness, must trim with a knife or scissors, it comes with extras but I’m still on the first strip. It is easy to apply. Wipe down the area thoroughly using something like vinegar to remove any residue.Dry thoroughly. Line up the tape along the entire length of the cutting zone , put in place and press firmly working out any air bubbles.Your first cut will open up the zero clearance tape.I next added a zero clearance guide using sacrificial wood.Kick backs can be bad. Proper safety precautions can help protect the user.
