Works Absolutely Amazing in Dry Weather (UPDATED TO 5 STARS - REASONS WHY IN REVIEW)
So I sold my Beta SE skimmer and bought this new Surfer S2 (I'm on my 2nd unit because the first S2's's right propeller motor failed in less than 120hrs of run time, but at least it was before Amazon's 30 day return period was over). I also have the Aiper Scuba S1 as well which is awesome. While this Surfer S2 works very, very well when dry, as soon as it sprinkles even a little rain, I get warning messages on my phone that "one of the sensors may be blocked" and the unit just spins in tight circles forcing me to take it out of the pool. This happened to my first unit that died and now with my second unit as well and it's very frustrating.I emailed Aiper telling them my issue in hopes that they can issue a firmware update to somehow fix this as it is a pretty big issue, but I only received a reply from their AI bot which was no help at all.I will update this review when and if there is something to update.UPDATE:After the interaction with the AI bot (and before this review went live) a real person from Aiper reached out to me and we chatted back and forth over a few day span and they asked me to do several things like check the firmware, give them my order number, current shipping address and the unit's serial number which I did and in the end, they said that the unit should not be used in the rain. They also said that the algorithm is that the unit should 'self correct' itself from the spinning attitude back to normal function once it stops raining and the water dries from the sensor lenses. I have yet to give this a try as I have always removed the unit once I see the spinning but will leave it in the pool during the next rain session and see what happens.UPDATE 2: (Performance Review)The performance of this unit in the dry is simply amazing. It runs 24/7 and the lowest I've ever seen the battery is 51% and that was right before sunrise. The surface cleaning is simply on another level and the debris guard system works as advertised and nothing escapes while the unit stops, turns around and backs up. The wall edge cleaning works as described as well and from what I can tell, it will hug the wall of the pool for a complete lap about once every 3hrs.The surface of my water looks almost "polished" and it is awesome! It's nice going to bed on a windy night knowing that the little robot is on the job and whatever blows in will be picked up before my alarm goes off.The online app is pretty sparse, but it's fine and tells you how many total hours the unit has been in the pool, as well as how many hours and minutes the current clean cycle has been running. It shows air temp, battery level and unit info like firmware, serial number and ip address.Dry weather: Perfection!Rain: Not so muchUPDATE3:Aiper's customer service has reached out to me several times and has confirmed that with the help of my feedback they are working on a new firmware update that will vastly improve rainy weather performance and that update should be pushed out sometime in April 2025.I have changed my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars due to the dry weather performance, plus the incredible customer support that I have received and the quick attention to fixing the issue.UPDATE4:Aiper released a firmware update v2.0.0 that added the ability to 1) schedule cleaning times from the app, 2) turn the unit on or off from the app, 3) improve rainy weather performance.... and I can verify that the rainy day performance is 100% fixed from firmware version v1.0.0! Great job Aiper!

Works well, but impeller stopped after 3 weeks
Works well when the impeller is spinning. But after 3 weeks the impeller stops spinning, so it can't pull in the debris anymore. I did find the issue, the gear shaft of the impeller is too loose on the basket housing causing is to move away from the drive gear. This make a clicking sound and eventually wore off the gear. I removed the gear from the basket and it looks like there should be a bearing or bushing that's not there. I fabricated a plastic bushing and the impeller is spinning again, and no more noise.Update:I reached out to Aiper before writing this review. And they told me, based on my description, looks like a bearing is missing on the basket. Unfortunately they don't have them in stock. They offered to replace the unit with a new one instead. This company has really good CS, they replaced my seagul pro even though it's been running well for a year, they said there is an issue wirh the charger on some units. With these 2 machines, our pool is clean.

5 Stars – Great Skimmer and Even Better Support
The Aiper S2 does an amazing job keeping my pool clean—possibly even better than my old S1, which I already loved. It hugs the walls well, handles my curvy pool edges with ease, and the solar charging works so well I haven’t even needed the charger. The fine mesh basket catches a lot more fine debris too.I had a couple of small issues early on, but Kathy, Crystal, and the Aiper team provided outstanding customer service and quickly resolved everything. I use several Aiper products daily and they all perform great. Highly recommend!

Aiper Surfer S2 Cordless only lasted 3 months
It looked good, but it only lasted 3 months, one motor stopped working and just went around in place until the status LED turned red and stopped, I did an update that was available but it continued the same, I have not had any luck with this brand, I bought the Aiper Surfer S, it only lasted 1 month, then the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro, it never worked well, when you put it to clean the walls it stays in the same place for 3 hours and does not move, I do not recommend it either and now the Aiper Surfer S2 Cordless and it only lasted 3 months and it is already giving problems, this brand is bad, if you want to save yourself a headache do not buy it

No more annoying leaves
"I recently purchased the Aiper Surfer S2 Solar Pool Skimmer, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well it performs! This little device does an amazing job keeping the surface of my pool clean, effortlessly picking up leaves, bugs, and other debris. The solar-powered feature is a game-changer—no need to worry about constantly charging it, and it just keeps going. It’s made pool maintenance so much easier, and I love how it glides across the water, tackling everything in its path. The only issue I’ve noticed is that it sometimes bumps into the lip of my pool, which has caused some slight surface damage to the chassis of the Surfer. It’s not a dealbreaker, but I wish it had a bit more cushioning or awareness to avoid those collisions. Still, it’s a fantastic tool overall, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, hassle-free way to keep their pool sparkling clean. I have two robot pool buddies, one for the surface and one for the floor.

Amazing! 24/7 cleaning
This is the real deal. I love this solar skimmer. My pool has two skimmers however one is capped due to a leak and the other doesn't really suck in debris well. This skimmer catches everything and runs 24/7. I don't usually leave reviews but I am totally impressed. I don't ever have to charge it. I charged it fully when I opened box upon delivery and that is it.The skimmer is silent which is also helpful since my bedroom window is near the pool.
