Feels like a quality product!
Got this for our Survival/Camping gear. I haven't used it yet but the quality feels amazing and the teeth are no joke. It clearly looks like it will cut through wood. I will update my review after I have used it.

Substantial!
This saw is extremely well made…great quality. It has mass/weight which helps prevent blade deflection. Speaking of the blade…it is wicked-sharp. I didn’t see this in the description when I placed the order, but the blade has two locking positions. One angling slightly short of parallel alignment with the handle and the other positioned slightly above. Blade locks in solidly and has a nice release mechanism. Carrying case is a nice adder. Highly recommend this for any limb cutting use you may have. I’ll use it for hunting to clear tree limbs and brush.

Best garden cutting tool I own
I run a gopher control business and often have to work in tunnels with roots. I use the Silky to reach deep in the tunnels to cut out the roots. It's so good. I have to replace the blade at least once a year because it gets dull cutting in dirt and granite. Wonderful investment.

Silky Saws Are Simply The Best. If You don't Believe Me -- Give Them A Test
I spend a lot of time in Southwest Florida cutting down invasive brush/trees and trimming mangroves to the legal limit. Since I discovered Silky saws I won't use any other hand saw. and I now own five different varieties. They have proved their worth to me over the years and have allowed me to work in tight areas that would be very dangerous to use a chainsaw in. Too many low hanging branches, too many vines, slick and sloppy ground, and the occasional surprise visit by an undesirable critter can keep you off balance. One slip with a chainsaw and my friends might start asking if they can "lend me a hand".This particular Silky saw folds into a (five inch) easily carried length, comes razor sharp, stays sharp for a long time, and replaceable blades are available when it finally becomes dull. The main thing that you have to remember when using it is to use the 'pull stroke' as the cutting stroke and not to expect a cut to be made when pushing the blade back for the next pull stroke. Ignoring this basic instruction will cause you a broken blade, a lesson that you only have to learn once.My only regret in purchasing Silky saws was that I bought one of heir Hayauchi Telescoping Pole Saws that extended 12 feet. I've never seen a pole saw that was both effective and easy to use that exceeds that length. But I have to tell you that if I were doing it again, I would not hesitate to order their 20 foot pole saw. Maybe somehow I can break this one so that I can tell my wife that I have to get another longer one.NOTE ON 3-6-19: After 5 years of hard use my 12' pole saw finally gave up. I am now the proud owner of the 21' model and am thrilled with it. See my review under Silky 179-39 Telescopic Pole Saw Hayauchi 390.

Silky Pocketboy 130
Silky makes a great product. I already own the Gomboy 210 (and love it), but was looking for a more pack-able size. The Pocketboy 130 fits the bill perfectly. This is a Japanese-style saw, so it cuts on the pull stroke. The thin blade reduces friction, and the tapered thickness helps reduce binding during a cut. Many people tend to go too fast with this blade style, resulting in binding, bending and breakage. If this is your experience, then you're using it wrong !It only cuts on the pull stroke, and should not be pushed forward with force. Keep your arm aligned with the cut, push it forward more gently and apply more force on the pull stroke. It's not a race - let the tool do the work. I do about 1 stroke per second, and my Gomboy 210 performs like a hand-powered chain saw ! I fully expect similar performance with this Pocketboy. When closed, the saw measures 6.5" long by 2.1" wide at the locking lever (its widest point) and tapers from .58 thick at the pivot bolt up to .99 thick at the handle swell back by the lanyard hole. When opened, the saw measures 11.5" long. The exposed blade measures 5.24" long from tip to handle frame, with 4.75" of teeth, and measures .040 thick at the teeth tapering to .027 - .030 thick at the spine. The blade locks open in two positions. It does not lock in the closed position, but there is sufficient friction in the pivot to hold it securely in place. The construction is very sturdy - a full length steel frame with a large steel pivot bolt, and over molded with hard rubber. The rubber grip area measures 4" long.If you're looking for a compact saw, with excellent performance and outstanding design and construction, look no further - it's this one ! !
