Got this for our 5yo because she loves bugs and we thought this would allow her to more closely explore that world. It's hard to use free-hand and she's probably too young to utilize it effectively. For an older child, I'm sure this would be a lot of fun!

I ordered this Axlksia Mini Microscope for Kids and Adults for my twin 10 year olds as one of their Christmas gifts this year. For less than $15 at the time of ordering, I am confident with my kiddos taking this with them to the park without having to worry about them breaking an expensive "toy". We highly recommend it!!!

I got this for my kids (8 y.o. daughter and 11 y.o. son) for Christmas. They LOVE exploring things in their world, so this will definitely help with that. While it isn't necessarily the most powerful microscope, it will allow them to take a closer view of all those things they find in the backyard, and more. It appears to be very well made, and it will provide a lot of fun and education (without them even realizing it) for them.

My granddaughter cannot get enough of this microscope. It is perfect for the things we find in the yard, or things we find in the pantry that she can examine. It is the perfect start for your little scientist.

This toy microscope is significantly higher in magnification than others because it doesn't use a camera and lcd screen. instead, it's simply a set of lenses with a manual focusing knob. the batteries (2xaaa) are used only to provide light via an integrated LED. as such, you actually CAN get very high magnification, much higher than the digital microscopes.however, note that the stand pictured in the manual cover is NOT included. this is not a huge problem as you can focus by simply using it in handheld mode (see pic of it standing on table). but that is still significantly less effective than if it came with the stand so light can go THROUGH the observed object.if it was not for that, this would be 5 stars.
