They rotate well and are not stiff, nor do they get caught on each other, as some cheap puzzle cubes do. For the price, I was impressed.The key chains are not of great quality though. If they are tugged, the links will stretch and uncouple. This isn't a big deal and the cubes are better played without them, in my opinion.
