The Good:-Tested and confirmed that each radio outputs 10 watts of power on VHF and UHF bands as labeled.-Color Screen-2200mAh battery pack is greater than what comes stock with a UV-5R-Lots of extra goodies in the pack including tacticool antenna.The Bad:Absolutely FAILS the FCC transmit standard for amateur radio use, generating several harmonics on transmit causing spurious emissions that at best could create some slight noise on other frequencies or at worst cause harmful interference that would get you a knock on your door by the FCC and maybe a fine. Yes, they do that. I'd rather not get their attention.The Baofeng UV-5R was cleaned up after some time and is fine to use. The same with the UV-9R Pro and a few other models, yet these newer generation of radios all seem to have very dirty transmit.Once they clean them up, they'll be a great addition to your HT lineup, but until that time, avoid.

Recently, I got my hands on the Baofeng UV-5RM, an upgraded version of the popular UV-5R.The performance is very impressive. During a recent hiking trip in a remote area, I was able to communicate effectively with my friends, even though we were 5 miles apart. The clarity and range of the transmission are outstanding, allowing us to stay in touch without any annoying static or dropouts.The thing I like the most is the battery life. I was able to go several days on a single charge, making it ideal for extended trips. This means I can focus on my adventures without the constant worry of finding a power source.Overall my experience with the Baofeng UV-5RM has been nothing short of outstanding.Strongly recommended
