Very solid hard steel.
Gisafai 16 Pcs Heavy Duty Wedge and Feather Shims,5/8 Inch -- These splitter shims look to be heavy duty. Holes of 5/8“ diameter will need to be drilled in order to use them. I need to cut a hole in the concrete slab inside my house about 4 feet square. I’m trying to think of a way of doing that without cutting with a concrete saw or using a jack hammer for all of it. Both those tools throw an enormous amount of dust in the air. I’m going to attempt jack hammering a smaller starter hole and then split a little at a time off with these shims. I can vacuum those 5/8” holes as I drill them a lot easier than blocking off, draping and cleaning a whole room. If it does not work, I will come back and amend this posting.

Unique trapped design
I have a property with LOTS of large boulders, so we have landscaped our yard with them. Lots of them have frost cracks in them so I have used traditional feathers and wedges to split some of these large rocks to get flat faces. With these the whole set is held together with the rubber band, it saves a lot of time not having to chase loose pieces when working the stone. Sometimes I will drive the wedges in with a good blow to each set and wait an hour or so and come back and give each one another whack, over and over until it splits in two. These will make this job easier. Good hardness to the components.
