Installation was easy enough. I wanted to install this inside the cabinet of my Goodman 3 ton ac unit. I moved the location of the capacitor inside the cabinet to allow the EZ Start to fit nicely. Before installation, starting amps (inrush current) was 124 amps. After installation it is 21.9 amps. As expected, running amps remained the same (about 6.4 amps.) Unit compressor starting noise is significantly reduced. In fact, the first time the unit was started after EZ Start installation, I did not even hear or notice when the compressor kicked on. Remarkable.One extra benefit that is not often noted in reviews is the surge protection this product offers. Your EZ Start unit may protect your ac unit from sudden power surges. So instead of your ac unit being destroyed, the EZ Start unit, in essence, will "sacrifice" itself and absorb the surge. While this may likely destroy the EZ Start device if the surge is large enough, it should insulate and protect your ac unit from damage or destruction that would easily have cost you thousands of dollars to repair or replace.

This is Awesome! My AC was hard start and destroyed my main AC panel due I have a Tesla wall charger and I didn't know the main issue until I found the Soft Start solution. I purchased one from this Seller. Now it start easier on my AC compressor and also AC pulling only 16A instead of 28-32A. I know there is several brand cheaper but EasyStart Flex with Bluetooth you can monitor the consumption from your phone.I did have a miswire at first and I called Scott, he walked me through the installation was super easy. I finally got my AC running also BT is connected to the device as well.Overall, it's not just saving your energy it also protecting AC compressor. I give 5 star to the seller and Scott very nice and patient support. I definitely recommended to family and friends on this device Soft Start Flex.

This box is designed to reduce the inrush amps as well as start the compressor circuit separately from the normal operation of the fan. The ramp up of the compressor without the jolt is supposed to help extend the life of the compressor. My normal inrush was 144 amps while my dataplate says the max is 152. This box brought my inrush down to and average of 27amps, even dipping into the the 26s. This is better than advertised. Thats a win for me as my unit is 10 years old. I picked up the kit with the installation hardware and I was not disappointed. It came with non-crimp Wago lever wirenuts, sheet metal screws, and an adhesive double sided pad. Presumably if you can't drill. The two wires that can use spade connectors were pre-crimped. All I had to do was mount the box and cut and strip a wire, slip on two wago's and done. You will need wirestripper, and a drill with bits as these don't have self-tapping screws. You may also find a step drill bit for the whip hole is helpful. The APP that works over bluetooth is fairly straight forward but your AC does have to be on for the box to get power thus allowing connectivity via the app. Several options in there but documenting the learning start number and the running and startup amps is awesome. Overall if the unit holds up in the weather this will was a fantastic investment.

Excellent quality. The extra small fee for the installation kit items was well worth the convenience provided by the kit contents. The kit was well thought out even including a single-to-double spade connector. The Wago connectors made it simple to connect the non-spaded connectors. Their installation video was straight forward. They also included a phone number to text or call if there were questions about the process. I would definitely buy this again, and would recommend the version I bought (with the installation kit) for a complete solution. I did not need any additional supplies and the only tools I needed were a nut driver to remove my shroud, a screw driver, and a wire cutter stripper.My use case was to allow my solar array + inverter + battery setup to sustain the HVAC startup without the voltage sag. My inverter only does 12KW sustained and the startup of my HVAC system was a 14.7KW load. I went from inrush of 122.2 amps (or 14.7KW) down to an average 27.8 amps (or 3.3KW). This not only means that my system operating in off-grid mode can start the HVAC easily, but even my modest 3.7KW sustained 5KW peak generator can handle starting my HVAC unit. Impressive.

I recently installed solar panels on my house with a battery back-up, but the start-up amps for my HVAC were too much for the set-up to handle. The EasyStart is just what I needed! Jesse from their customer support team helped me figure out how to install my unique case (due to some previous maintenance and rewiring on my HVAC unit), and the start-up amps are now a very impressive 18 which is easily handled by my system. I can now run my HVAC from my battery backup with no problems.

We like it because our AC is much quieter now on start up. Only had it a couple days but when the wife likes it too, you know its good lol. We have a heat pump and I was concerned it might not be compatible but it works well. My multi meter doesn't do "Inrush" so I skipped the before and after Amp draw on start up but based on the reduced noise alone, were happy. It's icing on the cake to know it will be more likely that my generator can start the AC now in the event of an emergency, and if a storm gives a power surge, this product is supposed to sacrifice itself to protect the AC.
