Saved $240 by Buying it on Amazon Instead of Verizon
After using the Fios Quantum Gateway router for almost 9 years, my WiFi started becoming unstable, so I decided to upgrade. Verizon sells the latest CR1000 router for a staggering $400, which seemed overpriced. Thankfully, I found the exact same model on Amazon for just $160.Setup was quick and hassle-free, and the router has been performing great. My WiFi connection is now stable, speeds are reliable, and coverage has even improved compared to my old router. If you’re considering this upgrade, definitely check other retailers before paying Verizon’s premium price. Great router, and even better savings!

Works great with Verizon FiOS and better still with...
I wanted to upgrade our 15-year-old Verizon router and didn't want to pay them rent for it, so I bought this. It worked perfectly, right out of the box.I further improved things by adding a TP-Link—AX3000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender. The gateway is in the basement, and I put the extender on our first floor. Now, we have great speed all over the house. The extender also gives us a handy (and separate) 2.4 GHz network for our lightbulbs and other internet-connected things.

Save money
Verizon wanted to charge me $15 per month for a CR1000A router (aka $180/year). Or I could purchase the same router from Verizon for $399.99. A 27 month payback.I decided that purchasing a CR1000A router with a Verizon check mark on the front for less than half the Verizon purchase price was the way to go. A 13 month payback.Installation was a breeze. Disconnect two Ethernet cables. One from the ONT (Optical Network Terminal), the other from my local network. Remove Verizon's router and power pack. Put My router in place. Connect the Ethernet cables to the same ports as before. (RED goes to the ONT) Connect power pack to power and my router. Wait a few minutes and we are back in business. You may need to reconfigure WiFi on some of your devices. The last step is to return Verizon's router to Verizon, and save $15 per month.

Half the cost compared to buying from Verizon.
I was happy to save lots compared to what I would of had to pay if I purchased it from Verizon, but this is not a good device for wifi purpose as speeds are not consistent and drops a lot. It is a great device for sole purpose as a modem only if utilizing another router connected to it. At the end I ended up disabling WiFi capability and just use it as a modem.

Cheaper to buy
Verizon wanted to charge $18 per month to rent this router. It is necessary to enable all the options on Fios TV. The internet coverage is terrible. No longer had internet access in areas of the house that had it with the previous model. Had to buy a mesh network to get whole house coverage.

Not new
Bought “new”, but received a clearly used box with scrapes and marks. Unit seems to work, but it’s clearly not new and poorly repackaged.
