Truffle risotto
Made truffle risotto with Christmas dinner. While certainly not the same as fresh the truffles had very good flavor and great aroma. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Delicious goodness
I like the flavor of truffles. I wanted to be able to add this wonderful flavor in my cooking. The problem is fresh truffles are expensive and there's no way I will use the whole truffle, not right away. I needed something I could use little by little over a period of time. Most recipes simply call for truffle oil. But I could not bring myself to use truffle oil. Maybe I watched too much of Anthony Bourdain... Each time I would look at the ingredients there would be some mystery "natural flavor". I did some research and found some disturbing information about what that natural truffle flavor really is... (spoiler alert!) - it is not truffles! So while scouring amazon for a solution I came across this minced black truffle in a jar. Am I happy this is available! Such a great option. It is very affordable and allows one an option of using this delicious flavorful ingredient in small amounts over an extended period of time. I also read the reviews previous customers posted and one suggested adding olive oil to the jar as the minced mass gets used. What a wonderful idea! I have been doing that every time I take out a little and I end up with real truffle flavored oil which can also be used in cooking. (skim off that flavored oil and add it into ketchup and you end up with the best ketchup ever tasted!)To sum up my ramblings, this is a superior product. Thank you, TruffleHunter!

Delicious!
I confess I've never had a real, fresh, honest to goodness black truffle before. But I have bought truffle oil many times. I actually did buy something that claimed to be a real truffle some years back - it looked like a truffle, sat in its own tiny little jar and cost me over $25, but it was virtually flavorless. So most of my experience has been with truffle oil. From that perspective, I can tell you that this product is far superior to truffle oil. The aroma and flavor are simply stronger. Yes, it's expensive, but a jar goes a pretty long way. It is absolutely fabulous with anything involving steak, eggs, or potatoes. Sure, truffles can flavor a wide variety of dishes, but to my tastebuds, steak, eggs, and potatoes are the perfect compliment. If you don't believe me, try this for the most unbelievable steak you've ever had: Melt a stick of salted butter in the microwave. Add roughly the same amount of plain goat cheese and whisk to uniform consistency. Add about 1/2 tsp of minced black truffle and some freshly ground pepper and whisk again. Refrigerate until cool and solid. Cook steak according to your favorite method and then slather liberally with this goat cheese truffle butter. You're welcome!

Tasteless waste of time and money…
I ordered this with marginal expectations but high hopes and was woefully disappointed. I made a brown butter, porcini mushroom, parmesan risotto and wanted to add an underlying truffle hug to the dish; however, the product was literally tasteless.I’ve used truffle oils in the past as getting your hands on real truffles in this part of the world is the equivalent of shaking hands with Jesus; however, I added one spoon and then two spoons of this mushroomesque mush with no additional layers of flavor. Nothing. Nada. Zip. I even put an entire spoonful in my disappointed mouth only to confirm what was a foregone conclusion. No f&@$!ng taste. Colossal disappointment is the understatement of the decade. $30 for what??? I mean seriously…Save your hard earned loot and just think about truffles next time your are preparing an exquisite dish and it will likely have more flavor than a dish with whatever the hell this was.

Not bad, decent
I'm not a truffle coniseur by any means, so I wouldn't know the dif btwn brands/origination. But I like the stuff whereas many others don't care for the flavor. Not bad, tho a little pricey for what you get. Four stars because I don't know what five would be....

A great flavor boost for your risotto.
Good aroma and flavor. Adds a boost to dishes such as risotto, where it will integrate into the dish. Add toward the end, and go easy to start -- it can be a bit strong. But used judiciously, this may be just the flavor boost that you need to take something from ordinary to extraordinary.

Great strong truffle flavor.
This is a very good strong tasting minced truffle. You only need a small amount. I feel like it's the best one I've found thus far. I've ordered others a bit less expensive but, not as good and strong in flavor. Pay close attention to the % of actual truffle In The ingredients! Some for less money only have 5% truffle. This is worth buying. I have purchased a few times so far. Enjoy!
