It works as it should easy to set up no problems so far for the price it’s a steal

This is a good but basic HDMI audio splitter.It works well with 4K (but only at 30Hz, so 60Hz monitor connections are out of luck). The picture is clear and the audio is of good quality.It cleanly divides the signal taking out the audio. It does not allow an video-only HDMI signal to be forwarded, though.No PSU is provided, so one must supply power by another means.Overall I'd say it's reasonable value for money, but it's not for high-end applications.

I bought this to find out I could have just bluetoothed the audio all along, but this has worked on both optical and jack perfectly. Once I get a new speaker I may plug it in if Bluetooth isn’t an option but it works none the less.

I bought some speakers for my projector, without realising it didn't have audio out.Bought this, and works perfectly splitting the audio from the HDMI - can now hear the TV properly whilst on the treadmill.

I have a Samsung QE43Q60tau smart TV on which the optical output, has failed. We previously used to connect it to our Denon stereo system. I bought this hoping that I could connect it via the TV HDMI arc connection and thus regain our optical signal via this unit. Unfortunately, at present it doesn't work, although having connected it to my Lenovo Laptop HDMI socket it works. It appears that my SamsungTV HDMI socket has limited, if any sound output. I will persevere and update you if I succeed. It seems that my TV is the problem, not this unit!

I'm using this to get audio from a TV into an old school NAD amplifier from the 1990s. The TV only has HDMI in and the NAD amp only has phono plugs in. I'm using a 3.5mm TRS to phono lead.Sound quality is excellent and the whole set-up works surprisingly well The TV only has one input - a Google Chromecast which is now plugged into this device. All sound from the Chromecast is split off and now comes into the amp - brilliant!I have used the device to send sound via its optical out socket to a more modern amp - this works beautifully too. I found the volume to be higher than anything else on the amp, which is only a mild inconvenience; it means switching to this device results in louder than required sound and I have to dive for the remote if I forget to turn it down a bit first. No biggie, really.The device is sturdily made - metal construction - and is reassuringly weighty.Another minor thing to be aware of, is that the unit requires power from a USB charger or similar. Luckily for me the Chromecast also needs USB power so I'm using one USB charger with two outputs for both devices.A good little device that enables the continued use of lovely old equipment with more modern and digital stuff.
