Don't waste your money on this CNC
We ordered this CNC from Gowe Group which is a third party to Amazon. Gowe delivered it and the control box was defective. We contacted Gowe Group and they had less than helpful solutions to solve it like take a picture of it, use Windows 2000. So ignorant. When we asked them for a return label and refund they stopped emailing back. Amazon can't help because Gowe is a third party in China. We lost our money and have a defective product. Do not order this product. Order a CNC from US manufacturer.

Good machine once you get a manual from the company for set up and software.
So far a very good machine - however, there is a caveat emptor. While a "demo" version of MACH3 software (the software that controls the machine's movements in x, y, z, etc.) is included, there is no warning in the product details about NOT using a laptop. There is a very brief one page set of instructions included that is NOT correct, and is NO help putting the thing together.A complaint, via Amazon, gets you a response from the company. A detailed word .doc file is included that is fairly complete. So, if you have a tower, not a laptop (in my case running Windows XP) WITH a native DB25 port (Printer port) on the MOBO, everything works fine. There are some example G-codes that work - I actually engraved the "roadrunner" example on wood and then aluminum. several 1/8" bits are included. I don't know if Windows 7 will work with the demo version of the MACH3 included, although I presume buying the full version may work.Be aware, however, if you've never done any CNC milling (or any other computer controlled machine, like me) before, there is a steep learning curve. Triple that if you want to use a CAD/CAM software suite to produce the G-code the machine uses to "automatically" cut your project. However, with 1/8" end mill bits, I can cut wood, aluminum sheet, and magnesium sheet. I need parts for a P2V-7 turbine jet I'm building that aren't sold anywhere (I'm designing my own Fowler flaps).Since I am an academic (Ph.D. diffraction physicist) my normal learning experience is via books and reading. This time I'm going to take a 3 hour hands on class for Autodesk Inventor, and another for some version of CAM software. Once I get the hang of it I think I can use good old gnu fortran (I'm pretty old - 71) to write a program to develop cutter pathways to mill out what I want.
