Great Tester for the Cost
Great tester compared to a Fluke Q-Tester I've used for years.

Good tool to have. Slightly overpriced
This tester is a really good addition to the low voltage tool set. Some pros are: it’s easy to use, it can be used with other Klein VDV tools such as probes and remote ends. Some cons are: the case is big, the tester should be sold with the digital probe, and the digital probe currently can’t be used as a remote 4 pair tester. To run a 4-pair test you need the remote end(dummy end) that comes attached to the tester. You won’t know if your cable wire map is good unless you walk back to the main side of tester to read results. Also The digital tone is not compatible with flukes digital tone/generator however it will still pick up any analog tone from any analog tone generator. With that being said it allows the user to be able to locate a distance to fault on an open or shorted pair. I will add more reviews as I use it more in the field. One thing I do wish about the tool is that it offered a wiremap test display on the remote end to know if you pass a test. I would have been willing to spend another 100 dollars on this tool if it did that. Solid 4 out of 5.

Waste of money
I do networking for a living and am very disappointed with this tool! LAN test does not provide ipOr dhcp status. Useless if the port is POE WILL NOT WORK!!! If POE you get a warning message that says disconnect. So since most switches are POE enabled this device is useless!!! Other features are available on the scout pro. Don’t waste you money on this device!!!

**A must upgrade from Scout Pro 3**
This was an upgrade from my Scout Pro 3 w/POE which still works fine but wanted the add feature that Pro Max had. I was a bit bummed about not having more Test/Map ability but just for kicks I tried the Test/Map ID Remotes (VDV501-2## Series) that came with my Scout Pro 3 and the #2-#6 I have worked just fine and show the correct ID #.Testing with a 10’ CAT6a patch cable.

Works well, easy to view screen
Not bad, similar features to a $3000 device I've been using for approximately 14 years. Haven't had a chance to use it very much. My only concern is there is only 1 cable mapper dongle. The ID dongles are okay but will not provide pin-to-pin mapping to verify correct or miswired Keystones or Mod Plugs. Not sure if they offer an accessory kit with additional mapping dongles.Only 4 stars for lack of additional mapping accessories.
