Waste of money
Worked for a day on our labxcollie. We used the Petsafe brand before and were very unhappy with this product.

Light vibration and automatic with multiple sensors not just sound activation.
Bought this for our deaf dog and have tried many such collars. It's a light vibration with vibe/sound sensors which stop false alarms and is not uncomfortable like many (it won't stop your dog from barking) but it provides haptic feedback and has made him more aware of when he is barking loudly. We're seeing a better range of vocalisation now instead of a 100% volume bark for all communication. The official Petsafe batteries are very expensive but are just CR11108 cells inside the plastic casing.

One out of two ain't bad...
Firstly, the build quality is decent with nothing that's going to be destroyed by your dogs unless they've mastered tools. I'm not a big fan of the electro-shock collars, although there's no denying they are effective. This much softer option attempts to distract the animal rather than punish them. I've tried it on two of ours and for one (King Charles) it works as a temporary distraction (although if she really wants something, she will just continue). The lab on the other hand paid it no attention after the first minute and ignores it completely after the initial 'buzz'. So overall it's been a partial success, partial failure. It would be best to have one to test out before purchase.

All dogs are different but I've found this works well with mine
I've tried the ultrasonic model before with some success so I was interested in giving the vibrational one a go, as it seems a 'gentler' form of control than sound. And I have to say it worked pretty quickly with our medium sized dog, who has cartoon-like bark reflexes when it comes to other dogs, cats and the postman. This is a very well made unit that's quite adaptable in fitting size and function. Fits neatly and securely around your hounds neck and looks quite good too with decent styling. As I said, I found it works well, although all dogs are different of course, some respond to this sort of thing, others just ignore it, their urge to go crackers and bark away over-riding all other considerations. I think if you are looking to try one of these devices though, this is a decent enough one to go for, as I've found PetSafe to be a very reliable brand. Worth a try.

Not for us!
We have used a cheap vibration collar before and found it very successful, so when the upmarket version was offered to me, I jumped at the chance! I was seduced by the multiple vibration combinations and the PetSafe brand.I was a bit horrified when I saw the collar. It has two huge prongs that will stick into the dogs neck! It looks really uncomfortable. Our old cheap vibration collar was flat on the inside! Then we tried to out it on and had to shorten it to its very shortest setting for our terrier, which was a bit ridiculous, but fair enough I suppose as the product needs to work for large breeds too. (Sidebar, I've always found its the little dogs that bark more and big dogs never tend to notice collars like this!)Turning it on should be simple - just grab a penny and turn the dial... Well I think I overdid it and the dial popped out, then I pushed it back in and turned it back a way until a green light started to flash. I think that is on! It would have been handier to have a little switch on the side... Like my old collar did!! Still, this does seem waterproof.I have several thoughts on this one: I wouldn't make my dog wear something that uncomfortable looking because I would never wear it so why should she; it could be a bit easier to turn on and off; and I would never spend so much when far cheaper items which work just as well are available for about a tenth of the cost! Not a fan but this may work better for spaniel sized dogs than terriers who perhaps wouldn't notice the prongs sticking in so much.

Very short lived relief
The vibration slightly surprised my dog the first couple of times he barked but within one afternoon it had no effect at all. It may work on smaller dogs but now good for a larger long haired dog.
