The one you want for an early ECM Synchronika
This review applies to the E61200NT (nanotech) shower screen with cafelat red silicone group gasket. THIS is the one you want if, like me, you have an early production ECM Synchronika espresso machine… produced after the ECM marque was sold and moved operations to Germany, while the original ECM operation in Milan became ‘Rocket.’ (This may apply to other early model ECM Heidelberg machines, I don’t know that from experience however). The screen definitely improves dispersion and with the ‘nanotech coating’ it stays quite clean. Any oily coffee residue rinses off easily, you don’t really need to use cafiza or puro or other cleaner when you pull it for cleaning (I do anyway). If you also use a puck screen, your machine will rarely need backflushing. For that, I highly recommend the E&B puck screen… it combines a thin laser etched membrane with a rigid plate and is easier to use than wire mesh or thin etched screens. I’ve tried all three… the E&B puck screen is worth the price.About the E&B shower screen offered here (E61200RNT)… if you have an ECM Synchronika purchased more than a few years ago, it probably won’t fit. I tried two of the ‘RNT’ screens thinking the first one must just be a defect; but it is just too small as designed… in fact, it will ‘nest’ inside the NT model. You can scrape knuckles and go nuts trying to fit the RNT to your grouphead… so take my advice, save yourself the trouble and don’t try. I see a German reviewer who seems to have had the same experience. A word to the wise. The silicone gasket is the way to go as well. If you still have an old black rubber gasket, throw it away and never go back. Unlike the rubber, which oozes black gunk all over your hands (and probably in your espresso) and will dry out and crack, the silicone is clean as a whistle, smooth and pliable. It will last a long time, easy to install, and you don’t need to yank hard on your portafilter to get a good seal — as happens when the black gaskets start to compress and dry out with use.So… I strongly recommend the E61200NT/Cafelat gasket option. Five stars for sure.

Terrific set to renew your espresso machine.
Fantastic kit. Has everything you need for your machines annual maintenance.Pop out the old gasket and screen, scrub the group head well with Cafiza or similar detergent, evenly apply the food safe grease on the inner, outer and upper surfaces of the new gasket, push it into place (writing side up), and then follow up with the the portafilter to lock it in place. The parts in this kid are top notch, and the process is really easy. As long as you scrub the inside of the group head well, your espresso machine should give you many more years of service with this annual maintenance regimen.

Good
Put this on my new stone espresso machine. Looks a bit like the stock one. Probably won’t change the taste of a shot a lot but I love the ceramic coating that makes cleaning easy. Also own some IMS baskets and they are great
