HTC Instrument MT-4 Digital Non Contact IR Infrared Temperature Gun Thermometer For Industrial Purpose Only (Multicolour)

I previously purchased a slightly more expensive model that is supposed to go as high as 580 deg C as opposed to 550 deg C rated for this model. However ended up returning it as the 580 deg C rating was probably at an Emmisivity value of 1. At the most common emmisivity value of 0.95, that device saturated at 550 deg C so having no effective advantage over this unit. I have verified this experimentally. Pros of this unit:1. True 550 deg C max temparature measurement at E = 0.952. Probably the cheapest option for a 550 deg C device3. Comes with a good carry case with belt loop (like a holster)4. Fairly accurate when used properly within the limitations of the measurement technology.5. Even though the specs on Amazon product page say Emmisivity value is fixed at 0.95, it is possible to change it.6. Laser forms a cluster of dots instead of just a pinpoint to better visualze the measurement area. As you move further from the surface, the cluster size grows unlike the single dot in case of most other instrument.Bottomline: if you are looking for an IR thermometer with max temperature range up to 550 deg C, look no further.Just wish that the seller would update correct description for the product. I referred to the product user manual available on HTC website before purchasing this unit. Just don't trust the Amazon product page description blindly. Some products claim to be better than they actually are. This one is one of those corner cases when the description portrays it to be inferior compared to reality (fixed E at 0.95 is incorrect). You can change it.

Acurracy is low and somewhat inconsistent so don't try it to use for human body temperature measurement. it can give you rough estimate. I use it to detect overheating issues in electronics.Also every different object has different emissivity, so you need to adjust the emissivity when measuring different typeof objects... Which requires calibration. My only hope it should be durable.

I Giving This 5/5 Stars in Accuracy , Easy To Use and Value For MoneyI am Physicist ( MSC ) and I Tested this on Tomato , Carrot @ My Fridge Temperature at 7° Celsius TOMATO HasTemperature6.9°✔ Celsius Carot Has around 5° Celsius ✔I Uploaded Room Temperature Screenshot It is on 21° Celsius And I took the temperature reading from Copper Plate which has same reading 21° Celsius ✔Note 🔴 : While taking readings Please Allow the Laser light on any object for 5 - 6 sec for accurate readingsI will check this for minus temperature but I know it could work perfectly( NOW I CHECKED THIS IN MINUS TEMPERATURE YOU CAN SEE IN THE GRAPH OF MELBER STONE PLATE IT TOOK ALMOST 18 MINUTES TO GO -15 TO -0.1 CELSIUS)So this is up to the marksFrom My Side This Product Pass out with Full Marks

This is my first purchase of a digital IR thermometer. Built quality is fine and easy to handle. Body is made of plastic which looks like it could be easily damaged if dropped.However, it is very easy to use. A carry case is also provided with the product which is quite nice and provide good protection to the product. Haven’t actually cross checked the temp it shows but looks quite accurate as per various readings on different items like freezer, fridge, gas range and room temperature.It provides instant reading on display and if directed to a different temperature zone it quickly adjusts to it with in 10-15 secs which is not bad.Hope this review helps.
