LEGO Mindstorms Ev3 Ultrasonic Sensor

Grandson will have to evaluate the product to make sure it is not damaged.

My child has been having so much fun with this sensor. It has been one year and he still comes back to this toy and plays with it again.

Good product for kids.

This was a gift for my grandson but I think my son got more pleasure from it than he did.

I purchased it to create a robot strolling within my home by avoiding obstacles, of course I did'nt expected a perfect obtacle avoidance but at least it could do basic avoidance, when the sensor/robot approaches the wall with 90 degree , it works perfectly but when the robot approaches the wall with 45 degree or lesser. it does not detect the wall and the robot hits the wall and stuck hitting the wall.... I analyzed the situation in the internet one of the eyes is transmitter the other is the receiver most probably when the degree is smaller then a threshold soundwaves transmitted by one of the eyes does not reflected back to receiver thus no any obstacle avoidance... I tried to add touch sensor to solve this problem if touch sensor touches the wall it goes back and change the direction ... if you know something else please share...

This works much better for object detection than the infrared sensor.
