Sounds great, love the extra options and the remote
Sounds great! I love the options for the Bluetooth and aux connection built in, and the remote is an added bonus. Super easy to set up with my turn table, and now I can use the speaker to play stuff of my phone via Bluetooth too!

Wow! When I found that little button on the speaker it was really loud! Sounded great with no distortion! Impressive!

Very pretty sound ok
I originally hated these speakers. They sounded worse than my cheap portable bluetooth speaker. I adjusted both the speaker settings and my equalizer. My first thoughts are below. I mainly use line in to play flac files as I think the audio improvement over MP3 and bluetooth is worth it. After using bluetooth from my phone and getting good (better than line in) sound i was confused so I tried again. I found that if you use no equalizer at all the whole spectrum of sound is MUCH improved. I wonder if these are not processing internally the line in so that if you use equalizer it ends up over driving. With flat equalizer and just adjusting the bass and treble with the remote the sound is actually what I would expect from $100 dollar amplified speakers and they are pretty and well made.Original thoughts. I bought these for a PC that I was temporarily using an Anker $26 portable bluetooth speaker on in line in mode. I was greatly surprised when the Electohome Speakers in line in mode were a step down in sound quality. The little Anker is a very nice speaker for $26 but... The Electrohome's are very pretty, operate well and include a reasonable manual. If they sounded good I would be thrilled. I'm not a bass fan, don't want to shake a room or even have bass as a dominant part of my sound as some people like. These have almost no bass whatsoever, the mids are muddy sounding and scratchy like they are over driven. Highs? thin and reedy.. I'm not much of a returner, so this was a waste of $109 dollars. I cannot imagine why there are reviews stating they have good sound unless you are comparing to a $10 portable transistor radio or cell phone sound. They are pretty, seem well made if not well engineered for sound. They will go fairly loud and max volume is about what I expected. I really expected better sound quality than my $26 small portable Anker. After turning off equalizer I actually like these speakers. They should mention that in the manual if they are actually manipulating the audio in and equalizer settings can easily result in over driven sound.

They don't last.
I bought these speakers two and a half years ago. They worked perfectly fine until today. I've tried replacing the cord and different outlets but they seem to have just died. Dissappointingly short life span.

Speaker wire
You need speaker wire to get both speakers to play

Great sound but may require additional components
Bought these for my son to hook up his turntable. We didn't have a receiver that was compatible so these seemed to be a good fit. It turned out that we still needed a pre-amp to get decent volume from the speakers. Once he hot it all put together he was happy with the sound. He listens to a variety of genres of music and the speakers are working out well.
