not ready for the market
this item has way to many issues to list the latest is the music skipping it will not play a complete song without it starting to get all wonky slowing down and sounding like the track is getting all mixed up. When it does decide to work it does sound great but i can't recommend DON'T BUY!!!!

It sounds noticeably better than a phone as well
Build is solid. It is larger than a phone, by a lot, I would say with included case about 4x the thickness of a Google Pixel. It sounds noticeably better than a phone as well. This is why you rip your music at high quality and spend decent money on headphones. The UI is a bit different than a traditional phone set up, that's fine, this isn't a phone. For the price, I think it's great, compared to other players closer to the $1k mark. If I had a wishlist, it would be to add a second microSD slot. And maybe software similar to iTunes that can organize your music/podcasts. Other than that, it's a good purchase.

A nice music player, however a crippled user experience due to mfg. instituted restrictions.
The DX150 boasts some great specs and is a very nice audio player. However, through their proprietary firmware iBasso has restricted the functionality of any google based apps. Also the Google Play Store app will not function on it. Sure there are ways to mod the firmware or install moded firmware, but really is no reason a customer should have to go though all that aggravation. As a work around Apps can be side loaded via a microSD card. Aptoide and Amazon AppStore apps will allow Android apps to be installed, however google based apps will still be crippled unless the firmware is moded. Tidal will not work either, even with the most current firmware. Spotify will work, however unlike their iOS app the an equalizer is not included in the app. Trying 3rd party equalizer apps resulted is such interference that all music player apps were unusable. From a user standpoint I want to be able to be able to color music to work with all the different iems and cabs I use. Also I want to use whatever 3rd party music app and DSP app that I want. iBasso has made this impossible with the DX150. If you only want to use their proprietary music player and it’s built in EQ, then you are good to go, but that’s not good enough for me so that’s why it’s going back. A FiiO X7 Mkii is on order and will be replacing it in my collection. Hopefully it will fair better.

Good condition, some bugs.
It doesn't detect how most music put into it via SD card. The firmware update process is also very difficult and instructions available are not very clear about how to troubleshoot.

WARNING, THESE ARE TROUBLESOME.
I bought one of these and have nothing but trouble with it. I own an ibasso dx160, fiio m11, lotoo, paw 5000 mk ii, and hiby r3 pro Sabre. They are all excellent except this dx150. I grabbed it because of the price. The seller told me they were new, and truthfully, they looked it. But there's definitely something wrong with these units ftom this seller. No wonder they're selling the m for $339.00 when they're &$499.00 everywhere else. These units cannot be updated via wifi or manually, they cradh constantly, and I've had to do a factory reset 4 tines because the screen goes red and it's the only way to clear it. I don't think I need to tell you that it's a definite return. BEWARE. You get what you pay for. ADENDUM - I BOUGHT A USED ONE FROM A FRIEND. THIS ONE WAS UPDATED TO THE LATEST FIRMWARE AND WORKS, AND SOUNDS EXCELLENT. BUT AS WITH ALL IBASSO PRODUCTS, IF YOU'RE A STREAMER, IBASSO IS NOT FOR YOU. WITH MY DX160, AND THIS DX150, THE SECOND I LEAVE THE ROOM WHERE MY ROUTER IS, YOU WON'T RECEIVE A SIGNAL. I HAVE ZERO ISSUES WITH ANY OTHER DEVICES.

Great DAP with beautiful sound
I think this is one of the best player for the price range. The build quality is great, sound is absolutely fantastic. Just make sure you pair it with a good headphone or iem (I use it with hifiman he-400i). Previously I owned ibasso DX 90 and Fiio X3 2nd gen. This unit easily tops them with it's sound quality. Some people are having lag issues. So far I had no lag issues. Most of my albums are in 16/24 bit flac format. I have a dsd version of MJ's Thriller also playing without any lag.
