This is a nice and compact device for smaller LED runs (up to 3A). Comes with WLED installed and can be updated OTA. If something goes wrong, you'll have to solder directly to the PCB as there's no pin header or USB port to connect a UART programmer. If you want a nice and easy WLED install, you can't go wrong with this prebuilt controller.

The media could not be loaded. I received the first unit on 08/31/24. I connected it to a 24v power source and per the instructions tried to find the Wifi (WLED-AP) on my available networks. Nothing showed up. Tried on my Android, Macbook, and PC. No Wifi was showing up specific for this controller, so I couldn't set up the connection. Moreover, the polarity of the light connector is inverted (red is ground, black is power). The unit did provide power to the lights, however no Wifi, which means I couldn't set it up. The provider was kind to refund me the money without having to return the unit. I really wanted to try this unit as it seemed promising in this miniature form. So I ordered a new one. The new unit arrived on 09/06/24. I tried to set up the Wifi. This time the Wifi worked, yay! However, as soon as I connected a light strip, the unit would "disappear" from the list of lights on the WLED app. I tried to reset the unit and turn the unit on/off several times, but every time I connected the light, the unit appeared "off" in the app. It's like connecting a light causes a short or the wifi module to malfunction. I tried to turn the unit on with the light strip connected, but couldn't find the unit in the app either. Also, the polarity was again inverted, so I had to splice the wires (which is why I can't return the second unit now). So yeah, unfortunately this is no good.UPDATE 09/17/2024I really wanted to give this a try and purchased a third controller. This one works flawlessly. I used the controller and a BTF LED RGBW strip in my 3D print project "GlowShroom". I was in the middle of designing my own WLED implementation when I stumbled upon this gem. Updating it to the latest firmware was simple, and it's been running great. The only thing I wish it had is a USB port for direct connections to make manual flashing easier, but it's not necessary for normal purposes.

The GLEDOPTO WLED controller is designed and constructed very well. I currently have custom implementations of WLED using ESP32 boards, WAGO connectors, and barrel jacks. It's effective, but wiring gets messy. This streamlines everything since it can plug directly to the LED strips using the JST SM connector without splicing or soldering. The input power is a DC 12V-24V connector, so that is the only other connection required. WLED, itself, is straightforward and robust for controlling LEDs over Wi-Fi. Fantastic value for a pre-made compact solution for WLED.

I like the ease of the plug-n-play, just limited on the the amount of leds it can run...if too many, it overheats.
