I love that this attachment is well made and solid. This piece allows the IC-705 to cant upward all the while positioning the attached antennas to be erect. I love thing and I strongly recommend this for anyone wanting a well made antenna bracket for their IC-705!

This is a very neat idea if you want to operate your IC-705 with a mobile antenna in the VFH / UHF band.That said, as others note, it suffers from two flaws. The first one is just that the thumb screw that attaches the frame to the radio is impossible to tighten sufficiently with bare hands to prevent movement. There are three ways you can solve this. You can put some double-sided tape underneath; tighten it with a tool (and mar it a bit); or replace it with another screw that can be torqued with a screwdriver.The other drawback is that if you don't keep it perfectly level when tightening the screw, the whole assembly is going to be wobbly; in fact, it is a bit wobbly either way, because of a fashionable but counterproductive chamfer on the bottom of the bracket underneath the antenna. The tiny radio doesn't provide that much of a counterbalance for the heavy antenna, and that cut-out area makes the whole thing less stable.All in all, it's not a bad product, but definitely could be improved. Since you can get it to work with a bit of effort, and because there's nothing else like it, I'm not dinging them two stars.

IMO great adjunct to the 705. Removes constant changing of connector on the main frame which will increase life of that connection (IMO). Not much more to say. Would buy again. Understand it works well with the Peovi handle that I have on order.

I've heard this is an excellent product, but I wouldn't know yet, as shipping has been TWO WEEKS. There are other sellers out there that have this product in stock IN THE US. Go find one of them. :)

This support will keep the strain of the antenna wire off of the radio connector and allow a small antenna to be mounted directly onto the radio. Especially useful for vhf/uhf operation where the antennas are smaller.

Works well but doesn't stay in place as well as it should. Doesn't fit the ARK-705 cage without modification. Would be nice if Windcamp made a separate corner brace for the ARK-705 to fit around and support the RC-2.
