Good value laser system
This unit is a good value. I bought it for upcoming retaining wall work, landscaping and for burying my downspouts. The tripod is flimsy, but if you take care of it and are careful, it will be just fine- same goes for the laser receiver. The laser its self and the grading rod are well built. It’s nice that it has a case. Just did the accuracy check per the instruction manual (very simple) and it was right on the money. This will be a great tool to have around.

Satisfied. Calibration instructions are wrong.
I agree with others that the build quality is a little weak, especially the tripod. But it does get the job done. And the grading rod is a bit cumbersome to use; the plastic brackets at each segment interfere with the receiver mount.I've checked calibration and found that one axis was slightly off. Not enough to matter for my applications, but not within tolerance. I'll try calibration now that I know the correct tools to use.So I called for customer support with calibration. The manual says to use a flat-headed screwdriver, which is incorrect. The calibration screws are rather deeply buried inside the housing and very difficult to see. The customer service reps responded in a timely manner and let me know that a) I wasn't the first person to call about this, and b) I'll need a (long handled) 3mm hex driver instead of a flatheaded screwdriver.Other than that, it works fine!It is what it is for the lowest-cost option on the market. Just calibrate your expectations accordingly.

Poor Quality
I purchased one for a basement project, it lasted about a month and the laser quit working. I tried new battery’s and nothing, customer service was no help. I replaced it with another one thinking it may have just been defective and the second one lasted about a week before the receiver quit working. Also with the second one the grade rod was received damaged, but I had another grade rod. Overall poor quality, just spend a little extra for a Bosch or spectra.

Worked great!!
Worked great, easy to use. Let me create a level base for the concrete pad!

Cheap but effective
Works great for what it is. The tripod is super cheap and fragile. The receiver is also very cheap plastic, almost toy like. The transmission lazer is pretty robust but you have to remove the battery's every time after use or it will just beep constantly. The case is also very thin and soft. It gets the job done but it's very cheaply made and I would not recommend it for professional work. If I were to buy another, I would definitely spend the extra $$ and get a professional grade lazer.

Works well outside.
Bought to level a large building pad and it works well even in the sun. Long battery life. Only a small complaint about the grade rod having too many sections and it seems the receiver is always on a joint so it won't clamp on. Easy to adjust to avoid this problem. Tripod is a little flimsy but it's adequate.
