previous reviews say they dont work. im guessing its their tablets that dont work. we turn ours on and the plates become too hot to touch whichis what they are designed for. we put ours on in our motorhome on an evening and we can see a big deifference in the bugs inside the van. we have also used it as a powerbank recently charging our pones, does that well too

Biting flies love me. So I bought this to take on holiday knowing I would definitely need it.The one night I forgot it and went out? I got eaten alive. All other nights I took it? Only the odd bite if any. Really does work. Put it just up breeze from you and it's very effective.

I don't get many mosquitoes but I wanted to sleep with the windows open this summer. First time I used this there was a mozzy in my room, so this didn't seem to work. Definitely works as a battery though

Didn't keep any midges off! I have a thermocell and I bought this for the fishing bag but the thing never heated up enough to smoke the pads and the battery seemed to drop quickly

I really like this item, it is compact has three functions and is rugged and well made, therefore ideal for camping or other outdoor activities in Mosquito/midge plagued areas. Functions include:+. Portabilitiy as it can be used without mains power+. An option to insert one or two insect repelling pads to enhance range+. A torch+. A function to use as a power bankSo why 5 stars? Actually, priced at £34.99 as at 13th June, I think that my assessment might have been 4 stars had I not liked the fact that it can be used anywhere, however it is for a limited time. Provided that you only use the option to insert one pad, the repeller holds sufficient charge for use for up to 11 continuous hours; one whole night in effect. Its 9600 mAh battery and then takes about 4 hours to fully recharge. It therefore follows that it can be used for 1 full night away from recharging. To be honest, if I were away from mains power, say camping, I would probably insert a pad, run it for one hour before getting undressed, get into my sleeping bag and switch it off to conserve power once in bed. For fishing and other outdoor pursuits of course, they might wish to use it all night, thus reducing the effectiveness. One pad should be sufficient to keep mosquitos out of a two man tent or for fishing a 9metre square area, provided there is no wind.We tested this item on a recent holiday in North Cyprus. It is heavier than our very old mains powered unit, but we had mains power supply and therefore we could recharge it. it did work both in our room, on our balcony and when placed on our table in restuarants in the evening. I am pleased to say that even in the height of Cypriot summer we were barely bitten whilst sitting out every night for a week. For some people, particularly those who have a significant reaction to insect bites it might be a God send to permit them to eat out in restaurants or the like when abroad in hot climates, or at home should we ever get a summer in 2024. The carrying handle is useful for its obvious carrying function but also to carry it when you wait for it to cool down before putting in a bag.Good portable option for those like me to seem to attract the little devils and either it is my pheromones that drive them made or i suspect my body's defence mechanism reacts in a different way to my wife and son whose bites dont seem to swell or itch.

I really like this idea. This camping accessory is a mosquito repellent, torch and power bank in one, and is rechargeable - what's not to like? I have spent years carrying round a mains powered cradle for mosquito repellent pads to use in hotel rooms, often finding that the plug is wrong, or the cradle is too big to fit. This 3 in 1 tool solves the problem, and even better can be used where there is no mains electricity supply. Having an integrated torch and power bank makes it even better. It is lightweight, small and easy to carry around in hand luggage. A great buy, and good value - I am really glad I bought one of these and expect to be using it for years to come.

I bought it for a trip, it worked until the battery ran out, then would no longer charge. Now it's just an ugly paperweight.
