Killer dac!
Love his dac. Was rocking a Dual ES9038Q2M dac that was decent. This was a very noticeable upgrade in my setup.A mix of tube and solid state. Music is large and like su one took a toll off the speaker. If I had to describe it. Not quite that dramatic.Looking forward to hearing it on my CJ setup.I can't say what it will do for yor gear, but lit was perfect for mine. 😁

12 processors, state of the art performance, and fixed isssues with cheaper models.
I have an audio equipment business, so I get the latest stuff in all the time. I got one of these since I've had every product from Topping and SMSL, and keep up on the new models coming out. The standouts are that unlike the SMSL DL200 (also a 5 volt DAC) this doesn't make any click/pop when changing bit rates, so they fixed that problem in cheaper models like the D-6s. Performance is state of the art, I tested with a variety of amplifiers including the Topping A70Pro and A90D Discrete which can take advantage of a 5.2volt input DAC for better performance (without clipping). From cheap to an expensive optical connector it had no problems or signs of jitter. RCA sounded flawless too. USB is preferred for performance as long as the cable is 6ft or less (over that, use optical). I tossed a bunch of different file formats, no issues on FLAC, DSF, etc. Its got 12 processors and as such, the filters are named a little different. I used the default one for testing since it's usually the best performing one. Let your ears be the final say on which sounds the best with the setup you've got.I've had much more expensive DACs like the Gustard X26Pro and all of the D90 LE/SE/MQA versions. This competes with anything out there. I'm a contributor on Audiosciencereview and going to ask Amir if he wants me to send it over for measurements, or if SMSL is sending him one. I currently also have an SMSL CO300EX, DO400, and CO300 as well as my D-6s daily driver. If you see it on sale off the $549 MSRP just get it and never have to upgrade your DAC ever again. For pairing amplifiers, it should be one that can handle 5.2 volts without clipping in high gain. I use star quad design XLR interconnects, and recommend them. Don't go broke buying them, Amazon Basics cables are just as good as the name brands. If you have noisy USB ports, run it on optical to get the most out of this model. This is as good as the technology will get, until maybe in a few years when built in parametric equalizers become more common. The SMSL HO200, SP400, or Topping A70Pro would all make excellent amplifiers to pair. The SMSL H400 is good, but the center on the bottom gets really hot on that model so I wouldn't recommend it (it's even hotter than the Topping A30Pro).At any kind of sale, using a credit card to double the warranty, it's a must buy. I've got this one playing on the Topping A90D Discrete and don't want to take these headphones off for any reason :)

Sounds horrible out-of-the-box
Not sure why a company would make a great product then send it out with the worst settings. Switch the output voltage switch on the bottom from the default 5.2V to 4V. Then, in the menu system, set PCM filter to last option “Non+Sampling” which is the most neutral/natural option. Then it sounds reallllly good! Slow+LLatency filter is good as well and provides a slight Hall effect for an even bigger soundstage. The two Fast filters sounded crappy to me.Been running this DAC for about a month now and really like the presentation it delivers. I set it up in my open floorplan living room area and it fills the room and whole house with a very expansive, clear and full sound, not fatiguing at all. It sounds really nice! It’s the difference between hearing the performance coming from the system and the performance actually taking place right in the room. And background is dead quiet. All evaluation was done via USB with both unbalance and balance outputs. HDMI ARC worked fine but caused other complexities with my particular setup because of the oddly dysfunctional implementation of digital outputs from my Sony TV. Yes, the DO200 PRO fixes the turn-off pop earlier SMSL DACs have, like my D400 PRO. The DO200 is dead quiet when turned off.

Awesome DAC Preamp For Your HiFi setup! All the right stuff!!
The media could not be loaded. My new toy came a couple days ago and just hooked it up to my pc. Although capable of ALL input types I have it running through the usb input, which by the way is a simple plug and play, it was all done instantly when I fired it up! From the DO200 PRO I go out to my PreSonus Sub 8, then from there into a pair of matching Studio 5's. All speaker connections are now with balanced cables which the DO200 PRO is of course capable of. I always knew my studio monitors could sound better, but wow, they have gone from just some pc speakers to the monitors that they are! (even when cranked!) I also like the fact that it has built in bluetooth, when I want to listen to my digital audio collection stored on my Shanling M1s HiFi MP3 player through this now awesomer system I just switch to the bluetooth input and blammo!! It also comes with a remote to make that real easy!! I also have a couple of laptops in the same room that I never had any special audio hooked up to... welp, again, just switch on over to the bluetooth and they now play (with superior sound!) through my HiFi setup. I am just tickled pink (can you tell) right now! And, by the way, the packing is awesome which is something important (to me). So, yes, my rating is 5 star and if you are looking for a DAC / Preamp for your home, pc, studio, gaming, etc.. audio system, I do recommend this little gem! You will not be disappointed!
