Awesome upgrade
I am newer player, but am athletic and advancing nicely. I played with a paddle from a 2 pack and did fine but the better players kept telling me I needed a new paddle in order to take the next step. As a long time golfer I know that equipment can only do so much, but I also know there is a big difference between a dime store driver and top of the line equipment. The best equipment won't let you break par, but the worst equipment can limit you. It's not as extreme with pickleball, but the first game I played with this paddle I knew the difference instantly. Spin, control, feel.... You name it. For $70 you cannot go wrong.

Nice paddle for the price.
I have been playing pickleball for 6 months. I first brought a set of cheaper paddles and decided to get a better paddle and it has helped my game. I would recommend this paddle because it’s affordable and it will help with your game.

Great paddle for the money
I'm actually intermediate and this is my stepping up paddle from the first paddle I bought. I enjoy playing with it and let my friend try it out - she then ordered one too.

Affordable Selkirk that is great for beginners!
Initial impression: This is a high quality and very lightweight and well balanced paddle.Play: This paddle weighed in at 7.8 ounces, which is right where I like my paddle to be in case I want to add weight (which I haven't so far). The light weight will be good for new players as it will minimize fatigue and also allow for good maneuverability. The shape of the head is the most unique aspect of this paddle - it's wide. This provides a nice large sweet spot, which is very nice to have for beginner players. The paddle has decent power and control as well. It won't provide the level of spin that a raw carbon fiber paddle will offer, but for most beginners, it will be fine. Conclusion: This is a nice all-around paddle well suited for a beginner / intermediate player. And since it's a Selkirk, one of the top pickleball paddle manufacturers, you can be confident that they'll stand behind their 1 year warranty. The only con would be that for about the same price, or slightly more, you'll start to see some raw carbon fiber paddles and this seems to be what everyone wants these days.

Affortable Selkirk technology to advance your game! USAPA approved!
Graphite face! You want some power?Paddle head design gives you a wider sweet spot (top to bottom) of your hitting area. As well, this will give you nice control, when you need it.I was surprised how much spin I could get from this paddle against the carbon fiber paddles I've tested which tend to generate a fair amount of spin.USAPA approved: 09/07/2022What this means is that you can take it into tournament play!It also means that you can grow with this paddle. So if you're a beginner, you can take it as far as you want as you up your skills. The grip is 4.25 in. in circumference. This is a great size, btw.. fits both men and women and it is a nice octagonal design. So if you like to spin the paddle in your hand, it's very easy. Many other grips on the market are more rectangular which is much hard to spin the paddle. You can see in my pics I show the end of the grip. If you see any of my other paddle reviews, you'll see this same image and you can start to see the shape differences.Has a slightly ribbed grip which gives you a confident feel that it won't slip while using. The Latitude by SLK has been an awesome paddle for many, now here's the 2.0.This paddle I tested weighed in at 7.7oz. So a bit on the lighter side which can help with fatigue, especially if you're new to the game. This is a great paddle to start out as a beginner, but can grow with you if you decide to play in tournaments. It's a great priced paddle if you really want to sink your teeth into this sport!
