great for fenced yards
i've also used landroid and mowro. honestly this is a great option for the price if you're okay with manually starting it, and you can keep it contained. i use it in my fenced-in yard so i don't have to deal with the magnetic boundary strip or convincing it to cross the sidewalk. it does a great job. i just pop the battery in and turn it on about twice a week. oddly the battery seems to die right outside my door most days so i don't have to go hunting for it to get the battery out and put it away. sometimes it will miss a section of grass near the edge long enough that it starts to think that the grass there is too tall to cut, but that's fairly rare and quick to fix with a manual mower or trimmer.for my front yard, i use a boundary-wire robot so that it can cross the sidewalk, but not into my neighbor's yard. for that use-case, i would definitely recommend landroid over mowro. although honestly the virtual-boundary units are getting good an cheap these days. i think if i bought a new mower today i would try the segway model.

Good mower. Would be great with a software upgrade.
This mower works well, but it needs a software update. It either mows in a circular pattern (think Roomba) or in a random pattern. It only goes a few circles and then switches automatically to random mowing mode. If the circular mowing pattern would continue until it encountered an obstacle or change of terrain, it would mow better. Because of this, it leaves patches of unmown grass on the lawn. I have a small lawn and one charge allows it to cover the lawn several times but it never manages to get the entire lawn done. It does, however, recognize the sidewalk, edging, and changes in terrain very well. I have landscaping in the front yard that is bordered just by mulch and the mower stops before entering the mulch and goes in a different direction. When it does occasionally get stuck, it figures out how to remove itself from being trapped and continues. The magnetic strip that comes with the mower is not nearly long enough to block off the mower from entering my neighbor's yard and I had to buy a second strip. It does recognize the magnetic strip well and never passes it. It doesn't get close enough to the edges of any part of the yard, though, and stops about 3-4" from any change in terrain. This means I have to mow the perimeter of the lawn. Overall, it's a very good little mower, taking about 90 minutes to mow my lawn on one charge. It could be better.

Would by another one without hesitation
This is my third mower and I really like this one. The one in the front yard has a guide wire and I'm good with it. That one still ticks and has alot more features. I bought this one for the backyard. It's all fenced in so I don't need to babysit it. The sensors do great, I like that I can turn them off. If this is your first don't expect a perfect mow the first time, it takes multiple passes to get it all done. The way it works is you set it down every day, every other day and go on with your life. Weed eat the edges and just fill the little holes and fix the little obstacles and you are golden. I hate to mow and this little guy takes care of that for me.

do not buy this
not good at all, it can not cut grass that is over 1 inch in length, it will get stuck in the smallest of holes in the yard, it will not climb any sort of incline but it will climb a fence and get stuck, it cuts in very ramdom directions,so the area that it may cut is ugly. it does chase cats. i have no idea why it chases cats, but mine did. I returned it and will not advise any one to buy this ever

Nice little mower
so far, so good. I opted for the simplest robot mower I could find that had good reviews. my grass was a little taller than preferred for first cut but mower did a fine job. I still have to work on my yard to get it more robot mower friendly, but I expected that. cut quality seems fine, pretty easy to use and noise level is very quiet.

Check boundary width.
Had to return this robot mower as it would not work on my lawn. The lawn is raised about 18 inches above the surrounding area and has an 8 inch wide concrete paver boundary that is level with the lawn. The item description does not mention this, but the manufacturer included a note in the box that it required a minimum boundary width of 13 inches for the mower to be able to detect it. I did a test run and the mower did in fact just keep going over the pavers. I was right by it to catch it before it actually crashed over the edge. Cannot comment on it's ability to cut grass.

Works as proof of concept, but that is it.
Slow, has a random pattern that leaves the yard patchy, looks like a drinking teenager mowed the lawn. The provided no go strips are to small for a front yard. With that said, I will buy another one later, but will get a higher quality one. This worked as proof of concept.

Did a great job!!
First day review:This is perfect for small spaces and my microyard. We live in a maintenance-free condo/townhouse but needed to fence a small section of yard for our reactive dog. It’s too small to mow, but is also kind of a pain to weedeat. This little mower did a fantastic job today. We charged the battery to full and tried to run it until dead, but ended up just turning it off 3 hours later. The cut is even and we never had to rescue the mower, even on the small, yet steep, hill. So, so far so good! I’ll update if things go south.
