I like the new external design and color and was happy to find it available online. I purchased the original version from Zykar at a local cigar lounge I was a regular consumer. I would carry it around with me so I always had a lighter when I stopped into lounge. When two or more clients got up and headed to the walk-in humidor to debate the merits of a cigar of choice and pay for the cigar before settling in for a decadent smoke the final ritual would be to cut off the cap and have the right lighter flame for a cigar ring gauge. You wouldn’t want a triple flam tabletop lighter for a 50 ring gauge cigar because you would end up likely destroying the cigar and have created the dreaded uneven burning cigar the bane of every cigar aficionado”s existence. This single jet flame lighter has enough power to light the largest ring gauge cigar you would ever want to think about trying and at the same time was just the right lighter flame to efficiently light 50, 54,and 60 ring gauge cigars. The reality nice thing about Zykar is that they offer will redesign a lighter to improve some lacking aspect of the original lighter. The original lighter came with a magnetic cutter that fit flat onto the lighter. Unfortunately the magnet was not strong enough and was a source of disappointment. I returned the lighter to Zykar to have it repaired and when I received it back the magnet had been redesigned to be much stronger. The next part of this review will be about how I came to purchase the lighter and cutter separate Lu. My original lighter disappeared under suspicious circumstances and I was upset about how thatcame to be. After a long while I decided to replace all of my original Zykar lighters that went missing. I went online to Zykar. It was out of stock so I searched Amazon and found the lighter and cutter sold separately. I ordered them both and received them shortly thereafter. The lighter had a laggy fuel tank than I remembered and the weight was a good balance and the flame was a serious amount of thermal energy in my opinion. I really liked the new lighter. The surprise was that the magnetic Zykar cutter was no longer a 54 ring gauge it had been increased to a “standard” size ring gauge of 60!!! Given the redesigned features in my opinion it deserves a 5 star rating and is one of Zykar’s best lighters.

Seems overpriced for what it is. The gunmetal finish on the lighter is extremely delicate and does not match the gunmetal color or texture that is on their slim cutter that magnetically attaches, this makes no sense to me. The finish and color on the cutter is superior. The lighter scratches extremely easily and shows every finger print. Attaching and removing the magnetic cutter will almost immediately scratch the finish on the lighter. Also, the magnets inside the lighter rattle around which give is a cheaper feel. Also, the flame adjustment dial is not smooth. I had to loosen the screw that holds it on in order to be able to turn it by hand. These are not problems befitting a lighter at this price point. Overall, disappointed. The only real positive is I like how slim it is and that the cutter attaches to the lighter.

This is a nice lighter. I looked at several online but found the reviews inconsistent. This lighter lights on the first try. I filled it initially and have topped it off but it has not yet run out of gas, despite using regularly. I have left it idle for several weeks and it doesn't leak down. I only wish is came in simpler colors and without any fake hardware on the cover.I didn't realize it was magnetic until after I bought it. It works well to hold my cigar cutter in my pocket.

Great lighter gose everywear with me

Piezoelectric igniter stopped functioning after about 3 weeks. Worked well until then. For the price I expected a more reliably manufactured ignition, this is on par with most lighters of this fashion. There is only a few small magnets inside the case of the lighter. Not the entire face like I had hoped. It’s pretty weak all in all. No fire, no impressive magnets. Sad lighter owner. Would not recommend.

Bought it to go with the companion cigar cutter by Xikar, great pairing! The dial-in-a-diameter gauge on the blade is nice as a starting place to dial in your cut. Very sharp, one place is stationary, perfect for a cut on the go. The lighter has a nice big tank, a weighty quality, and good flame adjustment. Nice combo with a tactical look for the new age revolutionary. Viva la something something!
