This is comparable to 3x more expensive versions
This tactical hearing protection headset with a military U94 connector is an outstanding piece of gear. The build quality is exceptional and versatile. I was able to remove the ear cups from the original headband and seamlessly mount them using Peltor Comtac arc rail mounts, which are fully compatible. The military-grade connector is another highlight—it’s a true military configuration, not civilian. This is important because the positive audio out and microphone in are reversed between military and civilian push-to-talk setups. Make sure you get a military-oriented push-to-talk or risk hearing faint or no audio at all.I’ve tested this headset in rugged environments, including out on the range and in bad weather, and it has exceeded my expectations. The gel ear cups are incredibly comfortable for extended use, resist deterioration, and hold up well in wet conditions. They don’t generate much heat during use, but I appreciate that they can be removed to cool off if necessary. The electronic hearing protection is fantastic. The communications function works without batteries when plugged in via the jack. However, to hear your surroundings, you’ll need to insert a AA battery into each ear cup. There are four ambient sound levels, and while the lowest level is slightly louder than I’d prefer, it’s not a dealbreaker. This headset enhances your hearing to a level beyond natural ability, making faint sounds clear and conversations easy in loud environments. Additionally, loud bangs are muted effectively to prevent over-amplification.Overall, this headset offers impressive performance, durability, and versatility. Highly recommended for anyone needing reliable hearing protection with communication capabilities.

Good the price, but with some issues
After using these for a few months, I would consider them good for the price, and for the average hunter and/or larper, they’re probably great.Pros: Budget friendly, amplify ambient sound well, connect easily to radios. Great for airsoft, and if used gently, hunting and range days.Cons: The plastic is kinda cheap. These will likely break if you’re too hard on em. I’ve not had issues with my battery compartment (Mine are 2024 model), but other people I know, possibly with older models, have had issues with theirs. A friend of mine just shoves a piece of cardboard in there so the battery will maintain contact with the spring. This is also after a lot of use. Another con - I don’t think I would want to use these without doubling up on hearing protection if expected anything louder than a 5.56. The hearing protection is OK, but I don’t think they’re always producing hearing safe levels with some of the louder calibers. Definitely way better than nothing, but still a bit loud in sometimes.Overall, I really like mine for comms. That’s the main reason I bought em. Haven’t put them through any major grueling conditions, but they’ve worked well so far. Would recommend for light use, airsoft, cheap comms setup, and situations where decibels aren’t likely to exceed 170.

Before I begin this mini review I want to make it clear I have very sensitive ears. For the last 10 years I've been (for a hobby) using FL studio making beats. I mix and master every track and don't stop until its perfect. I swap between my headphones, speakers, and car audio system and can hear every slightest of a difference and go back to the DAW and adjust it. I am very familiar with EQing and VERY familiar with compressing audio. Also I NEED voice meter potato to be happy with just simply watching YouTube videos. If you know, you know. With that being said...I was sitting down watching YouTube videos with these on to test the amplification. There is absolutely no audible difference in DB volume having these on (set to the maximum volume setting) and taking them off of my head. The only thing I noticed is MAYBE they compress the audio by 10%. Maybe. If you are buying these to hear foot steps around a corner these are not the ones for you. You will not hear those footsteps anymore then if you didn't wear this headset at all. God forbid you have a noisy fan, generator, whatever constantly running cause that's all you will hear. Add coms to this and you may as well be deaf cause you will not hear anything around you other than the coms and the constant loud noise. The positives are they are comfortable while a tad tight. The microphone quality (meaning the mics that give you directional sound inside the headset) is top notch because its not identical to what my ears here but man it is very close and you may not even notice the difference. Nice and crisp, nearly perfected. Directional audio is also very well done. I can accurately pin point where sounds are coming from with these on which with ear pro is a huge deal maker or breaker. They are also well made. Would I slam it into the concrete and expect them to live? No. Will they take me running into obstacles while playing airsoft? Yeah I think they will hold up just fine. @FOVAirsoft on youtube. Shamless plug.If you are buying this for an advantage in airsoft specifically for footsteps, the TACSKYs are a better option. If your buying these for hunting, gun range, or for any other "I need hearing protection" reasons these will be perfectly fine. The average person will not have any complaints. All in all I'm rather disappointed with this headset. I purchased it to AMPLIFY the sounds around me not make them the exact same volume as if I wasn't wearing them in the first place and only compress by 10% if that. I cannot hear footsteps anymore then normal, It DOES NOT amplify audio. But I'm also not wanting to return and go through the process of researching another headset because the audio quality is very well done in these. Just very unfortunate that Its no louder than without them on in the first place. Have I said this enough times? Not sure. besides the hearing PROTECTION part (gun shots, thunder B grenades, loud bangs etc) amplification is kinda the point of these headsets no? Also the "powering on" and "powering off" messages are nearly inaudible if the headset isn't on my head. I know a lot of brands make it WAY to loud, but this brand makes it WAY to quiet. I caught myself many times double or triple checking that I turned them off after taking them off my head between games even though I turned them off while holding it up to my ears. Still wasn't 100% sure I turned them off. If this company had an app for these wear you could change compression values, and amplification or how loud the speakers inside the headset are while set to the max volume setting, I would literally perfect this headset. But fair to say that's to much to ask for in a $90 headset lol...
