Evolis Primacy Single-side Card Printer

Worked wonderfully, ubuntu gnome edition 13.10 was able to compile the drivers supplied by Evolis. With the supplied ppd cups installed it. I crafted the image with Gimp at 300dpi with physical size the nfc pvc card. The cards in full color printed perfectly.

Lightweight plastic hunk of junk. You may love it, I however will never let it darken my doorway again.

In fairness, it prints until it doesn't want to. We print about 1000 cards over the summer, then 3 a day for the rest of the year. When it wants to act up, there's no indication as to why, it'll shoot cards out entirely in yellow out of the back randomly instead of printing the color spool. I'd say 1 in 100 prints goes bad. It's not that its a bad printer, the errors are just frustrating.Came here to review, right now it spit a yellow card out. Now its has cards stuck in the roller... Such fun...

We had our previous Evolis Pebble for 5 years without a problem. Still works but I thought I'd upgrade and use the pebble as a backup. Went with Evolis based on experience with Pebble. A little over a year later, we are having problems with the ribbon breaking. We have update firmware and drivers. We tried sensor adjustment command. Timed out 15 times even though we were doing it quickly. Finally got answer "card" which is different from "ok" which we we expecting. It is worse since we did Sa command. We put generous margins around the edges and still breaks. Not a good feeling when you are having all these problems and you open the cover and it comes off in your hand. I am going to attempt to get it repaired under warranty. Fingers crossed. Luckily our 6 + year old pebble still chugs along.4/14/16. Upgrading from 2 to 3 stars. After sending the printer in for warranty work, we were still having problems. Reseller suggested we try different cards. That did the trick. It was clearly associated with the cards we were using but the fact is that our 5 year old pebble prints on those cards just fine.

Worked well for 2 years. Now it is chewing up the ribbon on certain print runs. Support is not helpful even though this is under warranty.

These printers are nothing but junk. If you have to change ribbons, forget it they won't work for hours. unplug ,plug back, turn off , turn on, they might work for you. Very unreliable product.

Plastic peice of junk. Ribbon sticks to cards. Cards jam. Support is no help. Buyer beware.
