Road Top 8.9 Inch Car Touchscreen Wireless CarPlay Android Auto for BMW 3 Series 5 Series E90/E91/E92/E93/E60/E61 2008-2013 Year with CIC System, Car Stereo Multimedia Radio Receiver

This is a two month review of this head unit in my 2009 BMW 335i. Overall, it has exceeded my expectations. The sound is better. The screen quality is better and the wireless CarPlay is amazing. I also use the screen paired with a midtier Amazon reverse camera as well and it works great. I would recommend this head unit above the $400 plus Xtrons unit. See below for important notes.Installation notes:The instructions are decent. They have been translated so some things do not make a lot of sense, or are incorrect. One thing to note is, if you have a CIC system the instructions tell you to disconnect a ground wire on the harness. This is incorrect. Do not do this. Keep the ground connection attached otherwise the sound will be distorted. Ask me how I know. You can choose to take more time on installation and have a professional finish where you cannot tell it is not factory. I chose this option and I am pleasantly surprised. For the resolution, I chose the 1080 x 800 resolution or something like that for my CIC system so that the screen functions with the old BMW interface correctly. If the wrong resolution is selected, then the screen will be all buggy when you’re trying to go to the old BMW interface.Reverse camera notes:There is a supplied RCA cable with an attached supplemental power wire that is crucial for the camera to work as it should. One end of the power wire connects to the “reverse cam pwr” wire on the back of the wiring harness for the screen. The other end connects to the power wire from the reverse camera in the trunk. Any ground in the trunk can be chosen for the reverse camera. Once the settings are adjusted to your liking, the reverse camera is excellent and a great upgrade for a 2009 in modern day. (The reverse camera is very high quality but it has a few raindrops on the lens in the photos.)I hope this review was helpful for someone in need!

Worth the money, instructions are pretty clear but there’s lots of YouTube videos to help, hardest part was routing the harness but if you tuck the bulk of the harness for the radio unit to the bottom right corner towards passenger side you can get it to fit, I routed aux through the side of the center counsel and through the rear air vent area. Sound is great too, only had to adjust screen to cic. And it worked perfectly. Not much lag at all 10/10 upgrade

2009 BMW 335i E92Had it for about a month, relatively easy to install if youve had to take apart a dash before. Sounds good, even works with the steering wheel buttons/idrive knob. But after about a week i noticed that when its a hot day, it just doesnt even turn on, but then later in the day when it cools down, it works again, bought this in the beginning of spring in cali so its starting to get hot, meaning its pretty much 50/50 on whether or not ill be able to use iDrive/Carplay.

I said screw it for the price even if i try it i can return it if i dont like it but its a cripsy display . Audio was distorter i went off the instructions i have a cic so it told me to unplug the ground for audio but it was backworks plugged it the audio was prefect.I have tried other units from avin and xtrons . This is very good no lag. Ima buy and camera and wire it in . Recommend it.UpdatedOrdered a rear camera 👍 very happy.

Horrible instructions. The sound quality is OK BUT my factory subwoofer and rear speakers are not playing with this installed (makes the sound quality not great). There is no way to adjust speaker input to test or to make adjustments.The glare is bad also. If they fixed 1 of the 2 issues I'd be very happy.

The media could not be loaded. This unit is AMAZING!! Still have all my stock BMW screens for vehicle maintenance AND I now have Apple CarPlay in my 2013 328i everything was very plug and play the very few issues I had during installation the seller helped me throughout.Updates purchased back up camera AHD and it’s awesome how it works with this unit.

The media could not be loaded. Works good on my 2010 BMW 535i e60. The instructions are good but you need to follow them carefully. If you have no sound out of your aux port after install you will need to swap the optical lines from your old harness to the new. This is one part the instructions leave out. See the pictures. This is an amazing upgrade for the price. Added CarPlay to my older BMW and feels like a new car. The unit connects to your phone with Bluetooth and for some unknown reason there are specific areas on my route where environmental interference causes the unit to disconnect. It’s consistently in the same spot and luckily there aren’t many spots where this occurs. Aside from this weird issue I would give it 5 stars. Screen is beautiful and install was easy.
