These buttons are paired with suspenders that attach to pants with the buttons. Initially, attach these buttons to the waistband of the pants. Place them where the suspenders will attach. Once attached they will not pull off. Button suspenders have leather ends with buttonholes so the leather fits over the metal buttons. These are functional and durable and can be used on other pants.

Great quick fix for my pants that lack buttons for bracers. They hold to the pants very well, and I love the antique look.

Normally, you suspend her buttons are on the inside, so I would not use these with dress slacks, but they work just fine with my jeans so I can make use of some of the suspenders that I have.

This is a great set of buttons that have good holding power. It makes it a versatile solution for wearing suspenders on some dress pants that I really don't need to permanently have buttons sown into.Plenty of buttons for a fair price !!

Preface this by saying that I have owned a very good set of clip on suspender buttons for better than 25 years. They were purchased from a well known national department store and I have never had a reason to think poorly of them. I use them to this day. I bought a group of 3 sets of similar buttons a few months ago from a different retailer on Amazon, though I suspect these 2 sets recently purchased are from the same manufacturer. I have had serious problems with the set of 3 (different metal finishes) purchased a few months ago (clips coming apart, both the moveable clip portion coming apart from the U shaped piece, and the actual buttons coming off of the U shaped piece.) Despite my better judgement, I thought I could try one more time and see how a different retailer's product held up. I purchased 2 sets in different metal finishes. 10 clips in each order, which would give me at least one extra clip to add to the set previously purchased from which a button had come off. Unfortunately, nearly every single one of the clips allowed too small of a gap at the bottom of the clip to fit over a pair of slacks. Using a small set of pliers, and a flat-head screwdriver, I have bent the openings wider. They now fit comfortably over a pair of chinos, so slacks will not be a problem. Should I have issues with the clips coming apart, I will update and downgrade this review. The pictures above are the antique bronze, and black, buttons showing the minimal original gap, and the gap after I 'adjusted' them.

Afraid they do not work for the purpose intended. The clips don't hold very well. A small amount of force pulls them off. In fact, turning the pants upside down causes them to fall off. I would not be confident enough to attach my suspenders to these and go out in public.
