Cool tool for hobbyists and makers
Took me a minute to figure out how to get it set up, but I was able to get it connected as a COM port to my PC and get the output to come up in RoboStudio. It seems to respond pretty quickly and has decent resolution for the price range. Obviously it isn't doing arrayed 3D scanning like some of the multiple thousand dollar units out there (Ouster is a neat one if you have the budget for it), but it's a neat thing to add on to Arduino projects.

Nice entry level scanner. Good for burgeoning hobbyist, tinkerers.
This Lidar scanner is pretty great for the price. It's not the most robust scanner out there but the price reflects that when compared to other available scanners.Accuracy if good to great. Build is robust. I wouldn't shy away from this at the price.

Loud, sounds fragile
The motor is extremely loud, which gives me worries that it might not last long. But, we'll see
