The magnet is perfect for tight spaces in the engine bay, obviously it's not that strong but can pick up a bolt or screw

Worst magnet tool
Magnet is very weak. It will not pickup a wrench like in the advertised picture.

One of the good ones.
I had to retrieve a screw from an incredibly tight space, and this tool did the job. I read all the negative reviews but took a chance, and it was well worth it. I should add that this is a product of China, a country where quality control is generally lacking. This means you take your chances, hoping you get a good one.

Ok for tight and light.
Somewhat firm but playable costed cable. The fixed magnetic end is longer than desired, thus affects articulation. Decent pick up strength for a small tip.

Worked for me
Great for the money. Longer reach than expected. I used this to fish out a allen tool that fell into engine while changing valve cover gaskets
