Good connector
I'm using this to connect a valve and the metal pipe on an older fire department tanker pumper. I needed flexibility between the pump and the tank as the vehicle flexes. This is doing a good job at something it was not intended for.

Exactly what we needed and very heavy duty.
This was used to couple a 3" underground PVC DWV pipe. We needed to add a line to the existing line due to building an addition. The stainless shield with six stainless hose clamps gives us an extra layer of confidence over the ones without them. Very happy we spent the extra money for this product.

Quality Product
This product fits the bill as described. It allows flexibility to account for ground movement along with a well retained stainless sleeve for structural integrity. I liked the quality of construction and apparent durability. I used this product to repair a low-pressure water line and applaud the results.

When overkill is necessary
I had to add a cleanout on our mainline which is 50+ years old. It's a sturdy 4" iron drainpipe and about 5' under the ground. SO, not wanting to dig this back up ever again, I found this Fernco product - 8" long so there is plenty of "grab" onto the existing drainpipe. I love that there were six rings to tighten. The Shield also will give me peace-of-mind as I know nothing will damage the work that's been done. Overkill? Yes, a couple bucks spent knowing it'll never fail!
