You have main board, each player has a board and the player boards grow but not much. Then each play also has a small bee tracking board for their leveling up and hibernation.

We got this game about 2 months ago and have been loving it. It is made by the same people who made wingspan. It has lots of parts and functions you can do each turn like wing span, but I would saw it is easier to learn. It is a great 2 player game --that is how we play it most of the time, but we have also had fun playing with 5 players. 2 player games go faster--45min and 5 player games are about 1.5 hours for us. The fun thing is that after playing it more then 10 times I still feel like there are strategies I still have to discover and learn.

If you are looking to add a fun and replayable worker placement game to your game library, this is a great choice! It has a lot of different strategies to choose from and forces you to constantly problem solve the efficiency of your choices and adapt to your opponents. The many factions and random elements make the game very replayable. I don't think it's for everyone, so read/watch reviews if you're unsure. The turns near the end of the game can get a little tedious if you are playing with turn perfectionists. I didn't really get the feeling of a bee hive since you just have the 4 worker bees, but that's fine. I think the bee art looks awesome. Worker bumping is fun and increases the interaction between players.

Stonemaier excells in engine-building games, and this is no exception. Lots of tension as each ployer tries to decide whether to retire their bees quickly to end the game faster or keep recycing them to build up their hive. Fresh concepts. Bees ruling the world - how can that be bad?

Terrific euro worker-placement game with solid art, production values and a unique theme. 8/10.

This is a very nice game. Production is top notch. Rules are fairly easy to grasp. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be playing it again.

A bit involved but once you get the hang of it then it is easy to play. Easier to teach once someone knows the rules and setups.
