Quit crying and fix it!
I live in my RV. I’m also a multi-craft electro-mechanical technician. I normally just tell people I’m a wizard because they don’t understand my work. That being said, I noticed some intermittent electrical failures. Like the tv dropped offline and then restarted. In a case like this one can start looking for the problem immediately or wait until it gets worse and then it’s easy to find. The melted outlet and arcing connection screamed “I’m right here”In the spirit of full honesty, I installed a double pole single throw 30 amp breaker in the PDP I’m tied into for shore power. I should have installed a single pole 30 amp breaker. Basically, the professional electrical technician sent 240 instead of 120 Picture this BAD! A/C came on and went off then I compounded the problem by resetting the tripped breaker inside the R/v, fyi electricity runs on smoke, if you let the smoke out it won’t work anymore. Enough smoke came out on this one that I grabbed a fire extinguisher and started pulling the panel thinking “this is going to be one hell of an insurance claim”. I proceeded to re-wire and I noticed I was steadily dropping the DC side out.Time to order a part, which you should know as I’m writing a review. My biggest concern was I’ve replaced dozens of converters in the last few years , and as they’re a frequently returned item I’ve received some that were failing on my test bench, different brand but always a possibility.Ease of installation is dependent one one’s experience with electrical components. In my case, the hardest part was I didn’t have a “hand it “ so I was laying in the floor with no one to hand me tools. The previous owner had done some modifications and went testosterone fueled lug torquing making it difficult to loosen the terminal lugs and had some other “I know enough about electrify to be dangerous modifications” I fixed while I had the panel apart. This was a direct replacement for the old part so it was a very simple and easy install. All my systems went back to proper function as soon as the replacement was completed. Functionality is perfect. Charging? I don’t care. I’ve never looked at the battery on this unit because I’m always on shore power.I’ve read reviews where people complained about fan noise???? It’s not loud. If it bothers you turn the tv up and quit crying. The number one concern on install is make sure you’re de-energized. The 60hz shuffle is never fun. Murphy’s law kicked in because my wife was supposed to come for a conjugal camper visit that didn’t happen because of the lack of air conditioning. There are simple ways to bypass the dc side of a system if you’re on the road. Keep a small battery charger in your RV. If you lose dc power and have ax power just plug in the charger and you can use that to get by for a couple of days. I’m satisfied. The a/c,tv, and lights work. And remember, if you don’t k ow what you’re doing YouTube is the repair manual for everything.

Plug and play
This was a perfect fit for my 29 foot fifth wheel to replace the old converter. I’m a 65 year-old woman a bit handy and was able to replace it easily.

Fan constantly runs, and it is very loud
The fan runs ALL the time when the interior 12V lights are on. I’ve worked in the RV industry for many years and I’ve never heard or seen the fan run constantly with ONLY a 12 V light on. It is only supposed to run when it calls for it to cool it down or when battery is charging.
